Disappointing Stay
For the price being paid, I was disappointed upon checking-into my room. The room given was dusty especially on the dressing table with an inch of dust accumulated of the tissue box. The room smells mouldy. Condition of the bathroom was dirty, especially the bathtube. My wife can't help sneezing throughout the stay in the room and she dare not use the tissue provided upon seing the dust accumulated on it.

Reasonable budget stay.
The room was musty when we first checked in. Could have been better if the rooms are frequently aired out every day, with the window opened during its cleaning; followed by a couple of sprays of air freshener.
There should be some extra pillows in the room for guests who like to sleep with more than one. The pillow provided was too soft.

Overall, its a pretty decent budget hotel, within walking distance to the city centre. However I think they should change the uncomfortable mattress of Room 617. It is terribly uncomfortable to sleep on an uneven mattress and shapeless pillows.

Overall the hotel is quite okay, but yet I would like to draw to you the attention on the Hotel Orkid Melaka:
1) To upkeep the repair and maintenance - Room 507 (the room I've stayed), the aircond is very noisy and irritating - maintenance needed.
2) The comforter and blanket - smell very badly - wonder do their wash/sanitize it?
3) Safe Deposit Box - not in used (for display in room only) - We have to ask the hotel to reset the number, but they failed to attend to my request.
4) Breakfast - Not much choice and it taste quite badly....
