Spent 4 nights here with my family at the end of our 3 week backpacking trip around Malaysia and Borneo. The staff at Paradise are wonderful. I had to ring reception twice for assistance (air conditioner dripping water and kids locking the key inside their room) and both times there was someone there within a few minutes. Excellent service considering the size of the hotel. Position suited us perfectly as it is halfway between Batu Ferringi beach and Georgetown. We spent most of the days sightseeing around Penang so did not spend a lot of time there but when we did the pool was great for the kids to let off some energy and for us to cool down and refresh. Buffet breakfast has a huge choice, leaning more towards the locals and middle eastern cuisines but considering the nationality of guests, this choice made sense. Food and drink prices are high, as always in hotels (our breakfast was included) so ate and drank outside of the hotel (prefer local food stalls anyway). We bought a beer on arrival as had not had the chance to shop yet and would have to see Rm46 for two beers was the most expensive we had paid in our whole three weeks of travelling! Did not spend much time on the beach as it is busy with jetskis, parasailing, etc and mind you, it is not the best beach for swimming (but already knew this and did not look at Penang for a beach break) but it would have been nice to have seen the sand without all the cigarette butts. Either a sign for guests who do not have the respect for other guests or the environment as a reminder or ashtrays provided may work. My daughter could not even play in the sand there were that many. Anyway, like I said, Penang is not for the beach holiday so for a place to stay to explore Georgetown and the rest of Penang ... perfect spot.

Check in time was late, 3pm. The room furniture was old and need to be change. The beach overall is very clean and i enjoy the beach so much. Buffet breakfast was not so delicious with limited choice.The deluxe suite is big and comfortable. Should change the old ,small Tv to LCD tv with bigger screen. Overall, satisfied the stayed here for 3 days 2 nights with my BF.

Room requested for early check in at 11am, and 3pm check out was processed as requested.
Big rooms, with clear sea view and view of sunrise and sunset.
Accept that the fridge do not have any drinks
and there was no bathrobe in the cupboard.
Other than that, the reservation and counter-staff
was helpful on directions etc.

Very noisy day and night till 3am with people walking around corridores speaking loudly and walking heavily and banging.
Very warm in the hotel corridore.
Drain blocked in the bathroom and wasn't looked at until the day after my second complaint.
My room wasn't locked after it was cleaned, which was not until 4.30pm.
Nobody helped me with my begs when I arrived or departed.
People working at the reception desk were very friendly.

My family :(3xadults and 1xchild) had a fabulous time .The hotel was perfect and exactly what we had requested :2 x lovely rooms with sea views and terraces.The service was very good,the staff professional and friendly ,the hotel,the swimming pool area, the beach all perfect.We enjoyed the restaurant and the alfresco dining.Perfect for families , very clean,nice atmosphere,felt like home away from home.
We will be back with the rest of our family next year.

The location of the hotel is relatively far away from GeorgeTown, a trip to to town takes about 20 mins and would cost about 25 Ringget, as the taxis in Penang do not go by meter. It's quite a distance from where the food and shopping is. The beach is nothing to talk about, though it's a nice place to just sun bath and read a book. The hotel's pool does not get the sun and it's not very clean and inviting. Breakfast is pathetic, after the second day, it gets boring. The plus point is that there is a small hawker center across the road from the hotel, where you can find nice , cheap food. Service in the hotel is slow. We arrived in the morning and were told that the room will only be ready at 1.30pm. We went out have breakfast, do some shopping and got back to the hotel at 2pm, and the room was not ready yet. We have to hang around the lobby for 1 more hour before we get into our room. The air-con leaks, the water heater does not work. The room was big though, for the price I paid. All in all, it's a relatively nice hotel to stay in for the budget traveller.
