Very well located for travel to the...
Very well located for travel to the north or south of the island. Local buses stop outside the hotel and are very cheap.We travelled on local buses and found no problems. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, one of the friendliest we have stayed in. Very good value for money.

The staff at service counter who helped...
The staff at service counter who helped us checked in was friendly and provided us information on where to go, but the bad point was there was no location map or directory plan and pamplets on places of interest of Penang and Malaysia at the hotel. The toilet at the lobby was out of place, nowhere to be seen near lobby but located far inside the dining area, no signs to indicate its location too. The swimming pool was rather small too.
The balcony outside the room was not cleansed, rather dirty and can't really open the windows to enjoy natural breeze which is rather a pity because people booked seaview rooms to enjoy the nice weather and sea breeze. There was a bit of problem with the circuit, sometimes electrical appliances work and sometimes don't. However the technical staff were very prompt and helpful. Last thing is that staff at service counter were slow in checking us out and were not pleasant looking and did not say bye to us or say something to welcome us back to stay. Overall, the stay was satisfactory but could be further improved.

For such a price per night, the room was unexpectedly spacious and the breakfast spread very impressive as it was equivalent to other more high-end hotels we have stayed in.
However, the cleaning service was poor. they only neatened the beds and did not empty the trash cans. The sheets however, are old and stained.
the biggest problem staying at tanjung bungah is the issue of accessibility. It is in the middle of two big towns of which would require a taxi ride to get there. In fact you need a taxi to go anywhere and there wouldn't be a taxi in sight for you to flag down. If you wish to stay here, rent a car to go around. There are no convenience stores or food stalls which you can drop by after 9pm because they are all far from the hotel.

The hotel is not at all good. It is far away from the beach. The beach nearby is rocky. Breakfast is miserable. The hotel rooms are not at all good. They ask for more money for good rooms. AC is horrible. Staff is poor. Cockroaches and lizards play around the hotel room at night. You can get lot of good hotels at this price. I would not at all recommend this hotel.

What more can we ask for at this price...? Excellent sea view rooms which are very comfortable. Bus stop just outside the hotel to get to Batu Ferringhi / Night Bazar etc.. An Indian Restaurent nearby just across the traffic signal. Great value for money though the breakfast is only average and the hotel, rooms (especially bathrooms) are quite old but not yet renovated. The staff are quite good. We had a pleasant stay in the hotel and a memorable trip to Penang. We want to stay here again next time when we visit Penang. Its a nice place to stay.......<

The hotel was overall very nice with the beach right outside. The staff was very polite and they had no problem accomodating to our needs. The service I have to say is excellent! We had the seaview rooms, which was spectacular. The only thing was that the bathroom was quite old, some of the linen was stained and the breakfast was mediocre. But otherwise, the Tanjung Bungah Beach Hotel is a good bargain with excellent views of the sea and a group of very professional and friendly staff.
