The room had a lovely feeling to it, and it was a delight to spend 3 days here. Friendly and helpful staff and everything worked very smoothly. Would use again for a stay in Chiang Mai.

The Sritara is a new hotel located...
The Sritara is a new hotel located on the banks of the Mae Ping River in Chiang Mai and the rooms, reception and eating areas are all very beautifully appointed. The staff are very eager to please but there are some problems in getting assistance, particulary for those guests who do not speak Thai, as the staff do not speak a lot of English. My only real concern arose after my travelling companion had checked out - I was still in occupation of the room when someone tried to break in at about 5.45am - upon opening the door and facing the person she escaped via a fire escape. This incident was indeed unfortunate, especially as the security around the hotel is highly visible. If I stayed at the Sritara again I would make sure that the instructions on how to operate the room safe were available in my room!
