A Samui "stay-cation"
A Samui vacation, warmly welcomed at the reception by the friendly and unimposing general manager, promptly set a 5- day stay for an urban couple looking for an Asian getaway, in the perfect mood. The service staff were attentive to our needs, yet paying much attention to preserving our privacy.
A well kept resort with exquisitely laid out rooms, the Sala Samui Resort makes every effort to keep the guests pampered. Situated at the beachfront made it easy access for the guests to enjoy the sea, sand and more.
Food was a tad disappointing and selection could have been improved somewhat. Being the discerning coffee addicts that we are, we felt the quality of coffee beverages was disappointing.
Overall we enjoyed our stay and will put forward a recommendation to all looking for a good time in Koh Samui.

Stunning-in every aspect of the word.From the moment we arrived the resort blew us away.The buildings are beautifully simple yet sophistated in grounds that give a wonderful feel to the resort.We planned to visit Ko Tao but found it so hard to leave in the end we only went for three days and came back for the last two to complete our trip.When we returned it was like coming home.The staff were so helpful and nothing is too much trouble for them.Little touches made it all the more special, like little sweet parcels when they turn down the bed at night.
For the last two days of our stay we splurged and had a private villa with a plunge pool and it was worth every penny-sheer luxury!
Sala is on a very beautiful part of the beach but if that's too much effort there are two fabulous swimming pools to wallow in with very attentive pool staff and delicious drinks and snacks to be had by all.My idea of heaven.Thank you

This is a good resort to have a relaxing holiday this was our second time there and it was as good as last time, very nice room with pool, great service and friendly staff. The only thing is they don't have a bar to have a few drinks in after all that relaxing by your pool and using the spa. We found a great bar just outside the entrance called Just Johno's what a great place the owner cannot do enough for you, great conversation and good food so if you miss breakfast at the resort I recommend johno's and good burgers as well for that late night hunger. Say hi to johno and Jo for us if you drop in there. Fi and Dave.

Staff was attentive, professional, had a sense of humour and went the extra mile to make sure your needs were met.
Rainy season is not all that rainy. October is a great time to go to Samui.
We look forward to going back.

Excellent staff. Very professional, polite and friendly. Stay comes with free use of hotel gym. Breakfast buffet was included in our package and it was well worth it. It included the buffet that is laid out every morning for the hotel guests and you can pick anything off their breakfast menu as well. The food is excellent. Both Thai dishes and Western dishes are prepared well by the hotel chefs. If you don't want to eat at the hotel, you can take a 3 minute walk along the beach or at the strip mall (located just outside the hotel entrance) where you'll find half a dozen or so restauants or you can take a 10 minute taxi ride into neighboring towns Chaweng or Bo Phut for more food choices/shopping/Thai massages. Rooms are a little on the pricey side, but the tradeoff is the complete privacy you get in your room. We stayed in the SALA Samui Pool Villa. This is a studio room with a private outdoor pool, lounge chairs and outside day bed. The outdoor bathroom/shower does take some getting used to. Trying to use the toilet and fighting off mosquitos can be somewhat frustrating. The hotel does provide mosquito netting and complementary mosquito incense. One of the best features of our room is that the entire indoor and outdoor areas are surrounded by an 8 foot wall so you get total privacy.

We stayed in Sala Samui Resort & Spa in Ko Samui from 7th-14th August 08for our honeymoon. I would highly recommend anyone to go this hotel.
The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The rooms and the hotel are immaculate.
I received a bouquet of red roses and champagne when we arrived. It is definately a place for couples/romantics/honeymooners/anniversary.
There were a few families at the resort when we there but the kids were very good no dive bombing in the pool.It is suited to adults and not really families.
The food was lovely and we had a fantastic honeymoon it was pure luxurious.

Overall room facilities, hotel location and services is good. But Sala Samui should be able to provide more value for money service for shuttle bus/ transportation to other areas like Boput. Also the beach is a bit rocky and busy (quite lot of hawkers come to sell things!) And construction site next to the hotel is quite noisy sometimes:(

Our 2nd stay at Sala Samui and still fantastic. This year we stayed in a pool villa and last year in a deluxe balcony and they are both amazing. Attentive and helpful staff, exquisit food and the best smoothies. The atmophere in the entire hotel is relaxing. We are deffinately going back. Loved the outdoor bathroom.

We have stayed in Koh Samui three times now and twice in the Sala Samui. The Ananatara and the Sala Samui are definitely two of the best hotels on the island. The only down side is the consistent development of what was once a very tranquil ideilic island. The fishermans village in Bo Phut is a must.
