Excellent Stay
Stayed here for 12 nights in a family of four, The grounds and buildings are fantastic, the staff are absolutely fantastic and couldnt do enough for you, In particular the reception staff service was second to none, nothing was too much trouble.
Towels provided free for the pool/beach area which is nice and in the afternoon ice cold flannels were bought which was a nice touch.
There also provide a free trip to the local shop/ATM by Golf Buggy which was nice.
The only thing that could have been better would be if the air conditioning in the rooms was quieter.

Quiet getaway
Very nice resort. Had everything we needed at the resort, right on the beach, food was absolutely amazing !! Resort grounds needed some more attention but it is Thailand afterall and upkeep is not always at the top of the agenda. Staff were always very pleasent and helpful, as are 99% of the Thai people. The resort is definately suited for couples or families, not so much for singles as it is a fair way from the nightlife area. All in all a very nice resort and we certainly enjoyed the three nights there on our honeymoon.

Good retreat
This hotel compound is a perfect retreat lying directly at the Mae Nam beach. The location is quite remote and thus quiet. No stress nowhere. ;-)
The buildings have a very nice design and the pool near the beach gives a very nice view to the North. The beach is great.
The room was really great in size and design. The bathroom was clean, nicely designed. The only minor was the broken flush.
Service staff is okay, but could be more friendly though.
Breakfast qualit y is quite okay.
The place is a little remote, but A+ in design and quality. If you want to let all behind, come here and enjoy the silence

We stayed at the Samui Buri Beach...
We stayed at the Samui Buri Beach Hotel in January 2009. This was our second visit to Ko Samui, first time in 2006 we stayed in Bo Phut Resort. I chose Samui Buri Beach Hotel relying only on the travellers reviews on Asia Rooms.
The hotel is located in Mae Nam village, just near the beach, but ten minutes walk from the main road in Samui which is quite far away. The lobby looks nice but not lux, reception guys are friendly but speak poorly English. We lived at one of the Samui Villa hidden in a big garden, with a private pool, which was 2x2 m and too small to enjoy - it is rither for children not for adult travellers to swim. The room itself looks nice but monochrome - brown wooden walls, ceiling and furniture, with white bed and linen in the center of the room, which made me a little cold feeling. I expected to see more traditional thai style interior with colored cushions, pictures and cosy lighting - but you won't find it in Samui Buri.
The main problem was with the Wi-Fi Internet access. The hotel offers to pay for the internet access via CyberPoint provider which works slowly and not in every villa. My husband needed internet access in the room for business reasons, so we had to move to another room after the internet connection lost in our room on the third day of our stay. We were very surprised to discover perfect wi-fi internet access in the neighbour restaurants outside the hotel, which was absolutely free!
The garden and the territory is very nice however, the main pool is a gem, the beach is very nice and fully equipped with sun beds, umbrellas and free towels. The water is clean, but when its windy and cloudy weather (2-3 days in Jan.) the water becomes samewhat dirty with algae on the surface. I was glad to discover there was not noisy sellers on the beach so we could enjoy relaxing and sunbathing.
The spa just two steps from the beach is nothing special, the interior is quite poor and not attracting. The restaurant is quite good, however right 100 m outside the hotel there's a couple of thai restaurants with extended menu, so we often had dinner at one of them.
In general the hotel is good, but needs some improvements, so next time I visit Samui I hope to stay in Ban Laem Sai hotel, or Zazen hotel, or Bo Phut Resort.

Made our holiday. The staff were very welcoming although English poor, they were very sweet and always very helpful.
Rooms are fabulous - we had a room with private pool outside but didn't even use it as the main pool and beach are within the complex and much nicer so wouldn't pay the extra next time.
Swimming pool fabulous and warm, with poolside bar and happy hour 5-7pm. Drinks brought to you by the waiter at the private beach. Watersports (Jet-ski)? Just ask the barman and he'll make a call and the jetski will arrive!!
There's a bus twice daily which takes guests the Chaweng which is the liveliest part of the island - 15mins by mini-bus and we went here every evening for dinner, shopping, bars & clubs. The only downside would be that there is not much happening around the hotel in the evenings as it's pretty under-developed in Maenam but alternatively it's really quiet and relaxing which is a plus!
Would definitely stay here again - can't wait to go back.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Samui Buri. The pool villas and hotel buildings were in attractive grounds and gardens, with spacious outside areas and it was great having your own small pool to relax by. There was hardly anyone else there, so were able to use the large infinity pool and have that to ourselves much of ther time as well. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and immediately laid on a minibus to take me to the pharmacy when I needed one. The rooms were spacious and attractively designed, and the bathroom was fitted with a large jacuzzi bath, and there were lots of nice extra touches eg scented candle lit in bathrooom on arrival, bowls of fruit etc.

Myself and my 12y old daughter stayed 8 nights at the Samui Buri beach resort where we booked a Buri villa with private pool. Villas are gorgeous, may be a bit too close to each other. Gardens are also beautiful and well maintained.
Service is poor to average. Staff must improve their english skills especially at the restaurant. Breakfast is ok but sometimes you had to wait 10 minutes for a coffee ! We also had diner there. Sometimes we were only 4 to 6 guests in the restaurant and still had to wait a while.
Resort swimming pool is nice but should be cleaned more regularly, the same for the private pool. I had to call the reception to ask for it to be cleaned !
Rooms cleaning is not regular, as well as laundry clearning. Either they clean the room when you are present or don't clean it ! Had to call one day at 5pm the reception because they forgot to clean our room while we were away on a tour.
Also there are not enough sunloungers by the pool and no chair on your private terrace or by your pool.
It is a shame that the service is not better and more personalised. This resort could be great if the staff was trained efficiently. There is a lack of professionalism which makes the resort an average value. Considering the rates, I don't think I'll go back despite the fact that I really liked the villa and their concept.

The pool at the terrace is perfect.
Breakfast above the beach is nice. Food is sufficent, but could be more choises of marmelade, cheese, etc.
Service is nice and quick.
At the end of the season the hotel was nearly empty. Our son missed other childs.

Pleasant hotel, nice buildings (thai style) with some conceptual mistakes (too many houses giving some lack of space, villas with personal pools of dubious utility, same for deluxe pool rooms, I had a deluxe room, 1st floor, which was perfect for us). Very nice swimmmingpool, small but nice sand beach. Very nice small (and unique) restaurant directly at the beach but very few people eating there (several good and cheap restaurant nearby the hotel). Food good but could be improved. Quality of breakfast insufficient. Staff very kind but having serious difficulties with (my ! and their!) english understanding. Good quality for price for people looking for tranquility, nice swimmingpool and beach and not for high class service and food
