All good, except...
I arranged airport pickup by the hotel, via the provided email contact in the booking confirmation. Only issue, the hotel decided to take us to their alternative hotel, in a completely different part of the island. As it had been a number of years since we had been in Koh Samui, and we were at the end of a long flight, we didnt realise at first. It took us a few hours to realise, the hotel management had moved us without our consent and without informing us. This was very disappointing. The new hotel at Choengmon beach wasnt finished, with wires hanging out of ceilings and workers everywhere. Also as anyone who knows Koh Samui is aware, all the action is at Chaweng beach. This would have been a cab ride for us to access this area, everytime. Very unprofessional approach by the hotel staff and highly disappointing. We were moved to Chaweng the next day, when I complained. Once there, very happy with the staff service and general room quality. Electricity seems to be an issue, my iPhone would only charge at certain times of the day (possible wattage/amperage issue). This hotel is showing signs of a lack of maintenance - we originally stayed here five years ago. Beach chairs and tables breaking with rotten timbers, dining chairs with covers over ripped apholstery in the dining room, dining tables held together with bent and broken nails, pool decking in desperate need of re-surfacing, sun/rain awnings falling apart. However staff are still very friendly and very patient with some of the most rude (european) customers. Will probably choose a newer hotel next time - it seems they turn over so fast as its cheaper to build new, than repair or fix existing buildings/fixtures.
