nice relaxing getaway
I stayed in this hotel from 23-26 Sept 2011 & would strongly recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay in Karon beach. The hotel was very clean & being a person who is very particular about cleanliness, I have no complaints about it at all, very satisfying! All the shops are nearby & the beach is just 5mins walking distance. Patong is about 10mins drive away & about 45mins drive from the airport. There are a few bars also nearby the hotel if anyone dont want to drive to Patong. The hotel staff are also friendly but English might be a small problem there as not all of them can speak English. All in all, awesome place to stay & the price was within the budget as well. Will definitely stay there again!!!

We had a free upgrade to the one with balcony since the hotel was fully built. Room was bigger than expected which was a good thing. Within a 10 mins walk to the Karon Beach. Location was good as it's filled with mini marts and restaurants. There is even a nearby night market during the weekdays if you walk down the long stretch of road; hidden gem. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel.

Super Honeymoon
Hi Readers, we spend 5 nights at this hotel as a honeymoon couple and would highly recommend this hotel due to the friendly service and the location is just super, close to Karon beach and restaurants. food for B/F is good. swimming pool ok and free wifi

A very nice hotel...good location....just across the road from the beach...I thought it was expensive at £90 a night but that was more to do with the exchange rate and the time of year that I went.

Overall a pleasnt experience
Overall experience with Sugar Palm Karon is quite pleasant. I booked the hotel early and is able to get a relatively
good bargain of 2250 Baht per night.
Arrangement for transport to and from the Phuket airport was straight forward and easy, though
I find it a bit steep at a total of 1800 Baht for 2 way trip for 2 person but at least my girlfriend and I have a peace
of mind that we do not have to spend time bargaining with Tuk Tuk drivers or be taken for a ride.
The transport vehicle is a Toyota Cambry, which is surprisingly clean.
So if you are travelling in large groups of 4 to 8 (They charge on a per car basis),
you can split the transport cost which is quite a bargain for comfort.
The receptionists are able to speak fairly decent English and are helpful.
When both of us ate something wrong at one of the restaurants nearby, the lady was able to direct us to a clinic near Karon Beach.
However I was a bit disappointed that there is no simple medication (for diarrhoea) available at the reception.
I had to go to the 7-11 nearby at 4am to look for medicine which is unavailable also.
It is not the hotel's fault, but I think they can improve on this.
There are quite a number of DVD available to rent for free, so if you decide to bum in the hotel,
at least you would not be bored. Other than that they have free internet access and a long swimming pool
and that's about it.

My boyfriend and i stayed at the Sugar Palm in March 09 for 1 night after 3 nights at patong. i'm check in around 7 or 8 pm after half day city tour. staff are really friendly and helpful. The room was clean and spacious, we stayed in pool access room which was lovely. it's very close to beach. i think just about 2 mins walk. and somemore its near to bars, restaurants and convenient store. this hotel is totally owesome!!

This is definitely not a hotel for longstay guests,not enough storage space(2 small drawers I had to share with both my children).
The room size is ok,the bathroom,too.
The breakfast is not very thrilling,and neither the location of the restaurant:an open space beside the lobby overlooking the gravel road which leads to the hotel.
But if you don't mind the total lack of atmosphere and the sloppy finishing of the building(and if you stay only a few nights)you will find this hotel good value for money-considering the price
