I really enjoyed my stay at Mom...
I really enjoyed my stay at Mom Tri's and have recommended it to friend who is getting married in October of 2008. I think it is very romantic for a honeymoon couple. It's very beautiful being right along the Adamanda Sea. I would definitely stay there again. The rooms were clean,the service was prompt and efficient, the amenities were supplied each evening, and overall it was a great place. The only thing is that I wouldn't recommend it for seniors because of all of the stairs.

We were at this hotel for a week in Oct 2007 for our honeymoon. This is our first time at this hotel and we had a very memorable time.
Our room was amazing. We woke up to the sounds and sights of the Andaman sea every morning!
Wide choice of food for breakfast and plenty of tropical fruits which I love! The restaurants serve high quality local and international cuisine. Staff was friendly and non-intrusive.
Simply loved every moment of our stay there.

But there were some bas things, especially the service was quite bad, some hotel staff was unpolite and unhelpful, definately not the service you expect for the price you pay.
All hotel meals and services are overpriced and lot of steps in the resort.

We had a 3 night stay at Mom Tri's Villa Royale in April 2007, which was perfect! This Hotel is pretty much faultless - location, grounds, staff and rooms were fantastic! Our room (number 27) was a great size with an amazing view. As it was our honeymoon, when we arrived our bed was decorated with rose petals and we were also given a "honeymoon" cake - lovely touches. The location is secluded but with direct beach access to a fabulous and not too crowded beach. It is away from the hustle and bustle of kata town, but the town is only a short walk should you feel the need to explore. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.

Stayed four fabulous nights at a Beach Wing Suite. Fantastic room with a terrace with a great view of the picturesque Kata Noi beach.
On the other hand, breakfast was somewhat mediocre and drinks at the bar were poor.

This is a beautiful hotel in a great setting overlooking the cliffs between Kata and Kata Noi Beaches. The rooms are very nice, spacious and well decorated. I would definitely stay here again. Although it is expensive, it is a luxury hotel and you pay for that.
The location is not on the beach. But this does not matter. You can swim off the rocks if you want. There are three pools in the complex, one of them overlooking the sea. And it is a 5 minute walk to either of the beaches.
A word of warning though, although Asia Rooms advertises Standard rooms at the Mom Tri Villa Royale, there is no such thing. If you book one of these rooms you may be confirmed in the room, only to be transfered (or upgraded as we were told) to the Boathouse Wing. This is in fact at a different hotel, despite being owned by the same people, and is a 4 star hotel rather that a 5 star. A very different hotel and ambience, even though it is also nice. But it will not be the hotel that you looked at online.
We arrived to find that no room existed for us in Villa Royale and that our booking was in the Boathouse, and obviously we complained because we had a confirmation of a Standard room in Villa Royale. To be fair to the hotel they ended up giving us a room in Villa Royale, after spending a night in the Boathouse, but you do not need the stress of having to fight for this. I hope that they no longer advertise Standard rooms in Villa Royale, because it was a major headache.

Being slightly off the beaten path certainly has its advantages at Mom Tri's. The service is outstanding, the food first rate, and our room looking out on the Adaman Sea fantastic! The only drawbacks were the many stairs that can make getting around at Mom Tri's difficult for some, and a difficult path to the beach.
