A Hotel with Mixed Standards.
I arrived and straight away meet by the Porters who throughout our stay were fantastic friendly and very helpful and this gave a very Family orientated feel throughout. However prior to arrival i spoke to a receptionist by phone in regards to upgrading from a Superior Room to a Cabana Room to which there wasn't any available but was offered a Honeymoon Suit with own Balcony and Jacuzzi. The receptionist English was very poor,but assured me the price was about 200-300 Baht extra to which my wife agreed was good value, I was also told that my 2 children 10 month and 9 yr old would be accommodated with no extra charge so i accepted the Upgrade.
On arrival again the receptionists English was very poor and what i was told on the phone was not the case and i was to be charged 7000Baht extra for an extra bed for my 9yr old daughter. After a long discussion i simply asked her 3 times to confirm how much i would be paying for my room if upgraded for the 14 night, each time she quoted me 42000 Baht which was about £840.00 so i agreed and signed the upgrade.
The location of the hotel the Swimming pools were great for the Family and for the next 2 weeks enjoyed a great holiday or so it seemed. Throughout the holiday i asked for an updated bill to which i was issued and was able to keep an eye on the family budget. On the penultimate day we received the final bill which was right on the budget 50000Baht just over £1000.00 which was exactly what i was expecting.
Final morning i placed my family on the bus ready for the Airport and took the bill to the Reception to pay the bill where i was then told the bill given to me was wrong and my Upgrade was 38500 Baht!!!!! extra giving me an £650 extra payment on top. The Manager was called and then called myself a liar and that the Upgrade was alot more and i was quoted wrong, i then asked him to find the phone call to my upgrade and he didn,t have it! after a big argument,, i paid as i was under pressure to make the flight!

Centara Karon Resort Phuket
Great value, cetrally located, great beaches nearby. Many good retaurants and travel agents for day trips near hotel. Not as noisy and crowded as in Patong but close enough to everything.

Great central place to stay in Karon
The accommodation was very comfortable and clean. Food and drinks at the hotel were very reasonably priced and of good quality. With having 3 pools, all age groups are accommodated for ie. kids pool with slides, but for the teenagers there was a large pool which was also deeper. Only downside is that sometimes service at the bars and restaurants were a little slow - but that was perhaps because we were there in the quiet period.
Location was excellent. Close enough to shops, markets and restaurants. Karon is nowhere as busy as Patong which is what appealed to us, but if you want to go into Patong for the day/night it is a very short tuk tuk ride.
Will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Phuket.

Good Location
The hotel location is excellent with shops, restaurants, spas just outside and Karon beach a 2-minute walk. There are ample money change shops, tour operators, bike rentals etc also around the hotel. The hotel ambiance and staff are very good. The room we were given was in the old wing which was furnished well but some amenities like tv were old. The hotel staff was very cooperative and provided us with a crib for our baby and upon our request immediately swapped it for a smaller one too. The presence of shops/restaurants and bars is not an issue as they all close by maximum 11 pm and there is no noise. The internet charge is quite heavy. The tour desk at the hotel is also helpful. The staff is very courteous. A good hotel to stay with family and relax.

ok place to stay, but...
A lot of very noisy Scandinavians around. All pool chairs are taken early in the morning and all day long but not many people around or in the pool. Rather anoying.
Fantastic and very frendly staff.
Many ants in the 1st floor deluxe room, not so nice. They were even in the bathroom.
Balcony door lock was demaged. Not so nice in a delux room...
Generally, alright I would say!

Lovely hotel.Rooms very nice,but not enough wardrobe...
Lovely hotel.Rooms very nice,but not enough wardrobe and draw space and shower not very powerful.Breakfast very good with plenty of variety.Staff very very friendly and helpful and we would stay here again.

The location of hotel is excellent. However, the man power is seriously shortage during the breakfast period. The efficient of the pool bar at Lagoon was very slow. So the all over for Centara Karon is so so.....

We selected to stay at Centara Karon...
We selected to stay at Centara Karon Resort after reading reviews and determining the location through Google maps and were very pleased with our decision. The room we stayed in had fantastic views of the ocean and the mountains. The service was excellent, the cleanliness was perfect and the choice of facilities, restaurants and activities are endless. We truely enjoyed our stay at Centara Karon resort and would return without hesitation. The price is very affordable, meals & drinks etc are also well priced, however for bargains you will find cheaper only a short walk from the hotel.

We stayed in one of the Cababas...
We stayed in one of the Cababas at the resort and were very impressed with the privacy of the room and courtyard. The service to the cabanas was exceptional. There are 3 pools that we were aware of, one for families with young children: this pool had many activities for families. The other pools seemed to be mainly for adults and deep enough for swimming. The restaurants are very good and the food served is excellent. All staff were very friendly at all times. The grounds and pools were always clean.
