A Hotel with Mixed Standards.
I arrived and straight away meet by the Porters who throughout our stay were fantastic friendly and very helpful and this gave a very Family orientated feel throughout. However prior to arrival i spoke to a receptionist by phone in regards to upgrading from a Superior Room to a Cabana Room to which there wasn't any available but was offered a Honeymoon Suit with own Balcony and Jacuzzi. The receptionist English was very poor,but assured me the price was about 200-300 Baht extra to which my wife agreed was good value, I was also told that my 2 children 10 month and 9 yr old would be accommodated with no extra charge so i accepted the Upgrade.
On arrival again the receptionists English was very poor and what i was told on the phone was not the case and i was to be charged 7000Baht extra for an extra bed for my 9yr old daughter. After a long discussion i simply asked her 3 times to confirm how much i would be paying for my room if upgraded for the 14 night, each time she quoted me 42000 Baht which was about £840.00 so i agreed and signed the upgrade.
The location of the hotel the Swimming pools were great for the Family and for the next 2 weeks enjoyed a great holiday or so it seemed. Throughout the holiday i asked for an updated bill to which i was issued and was able to keep an eye on the family budget. On the penultimate day we received the final bill which was right on the budget 50000Baht just over £1000.00 which was exactly what i was expecting.
Final morning i placed my family on the bus ready for the Airport and took the bill to the Reception to pay the bill where i was then told the bill given to me was wrong and my Upgrade was 38500 Baht!!!!! extra giving me an £650 extra payment on top. The Manager was called and then called myself a liar and that the Upgrade was alot more and i was quoted wrong, i then asked him to find the phone call to my upgrade and he didn,t have it! after a big argument,, i paid as i was under pressure to make the flight!
