Overall pleasant experience. Staff very polite and helpfull. Rooms slightly small but clean and air conditioned. If you wish to move around will definitly require a rental car. Drinks in the hotel bar on the expensive side hence always empty.

Overall, very nice experience. Pool area is a bit small but with the beach so close, doesn't really matter much. Congierge was not particularly helpful with making plans. Might have had more to do with the language barrier than their knowledge of tourist activities. Business center is open 24/7 and is free which is a big plus.

We had a wonderful time at the...
We had a wonderful time at the Manathai recently. The resort, although small is very comfortable. The new pool area is lovely. Staff are friendly all round. We only wished that there was an in house spa facility. Surin beach is beautiful, clean and not over-crowded. All round, a great value for money.

This hotel is a very good example...
This hotel is a very good example of hotel shop (boutique). Its decoration is looked after and maintained. The rooms are very pretty, the "superior" is small, but it contains TV & dvd (free film hiring), minibar and safe. The restaurant of the hotel serves a kitchen of good quality. Concerning its site, it is with approximately 300m of the beach of Surin, where the hotel has long chairs with towels. A very good restaurant on the beach it is that of the hotel of at side (twin palms hotel), the Catch.

A Fantastic Hotel. We stayed here for...
A Fantastic Hotel. We stayed here for one night in February on the return to Australia, even though our stay was short the staff were very helpful and kind. There is private beach access across the road where sun chairs and towels are provided free of charge for all Manathai guests. We stayed in a deluxe room and would recommend it. The pool was lovely too, the entire fit out of the hotel is appealing. Also the buffet breakfast was of high quality and staff service. The one negative of the stay was when we had a couple of drinks at the new bar by the pool the menu was not tax inclusive and we had to pay an additional 18.7% tax on the bill. The only place in all of out three weeks in Thailand that we had to do this. But overall a very enjoyable and relaxing stay. No hesitation in returning.

Went to Manathai from 19-23 Feb 07...
Went to Manathai from 19-23 Feb 07 & had an enjoyable stay. Decor (exterior)was just like wat u see in the pictures.. Very nice! the extra touch of providing an ice cold towel scented with peppermint oil at the lobby area during check in was just the perfect perk me up after an early flight in. However, since we were early, the room was not ready. Not much effort from Manathai staff to try to settle us into the available rooms asap. Understand that standard check in time is after 2pm but if there is some show of effort from the staff to expediate on getting the rooms ready (even by 1pm) ... i think i would be really grateful and happy with the service. In the end, i managed to check in only after 2pm with a gentle reminder from the reception that check in is supposed to be after 2pm. Surin beach is really for doing nothing. It's a very small,cosy beach more for the romantics/honeymooners. IF u are looking for more activities such as shopping, more nightlife or even more restaurants, Surin's not the beach for u. Do note that Surin is about 30 mins thereabouts away from the more vibrant Patong Beach by Taxi.

I could not fault one thing about...
I could not fault one thing about our stay at Manathai. The hotel is excellent value, is in a great position and the staff were extremely attentive throughout our stay. I would happily recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a peaceful and relaxing holiday in Phuket. We'll be staying again!

A beautiful hotel just 5mins from the...
A beautiful hotel just 5mins from the Surin beach. For people like us who don't want to be in the centre of Patong this is great. There are still restaurants around, so you are not remote, but it is not overcrowded and noisy like the main areas. The service is excellent and everyone so friendly. The only problem we had was trying to find it- and no one seems to know about it so it is difficult to get directions! Go with a map!

While the beach nearby is very nice,...
While the beach nearby is very nice, the hotel itself is set back about 5 mins walk away. The hotel decor is very tasteful, but is superficial over ill-thought through practical design / layout (particularly in the standard bedrooms). The service is, again, superficially good but, in reality is abysmal. Nice, friendly staff hides awful management which means things are forgotten, late and highly inefficient. The breakfast is plastic at best!

i stayed in TwinPlam that's next to...
i stayed in TwinPlam that's next to Manathai during my 1st trip to Phuket, and it was so pleasant and such a memorable stay that I wanted to book the same for my 2nd trip. Unfortunately, the rate was sky high due to Christmas and New Year festive so I had to compromise to those low rate ones. I chose Manathai because I like the location very much and it's just a stone thrown away from the calm and beautiful Surin beach. Perhaps I shouldn't compare Manathai with the TwinPalm since they are of different categories but I truly am regreted at my decision. The room is small, the toilet is not really clean and the food at the restaurant is not really nice yet expensive. The stuff are not fluent in English and therefore always made mistake with our requests :( The swimming pools are small and there aren't many facilities to enjoy so I ended up spending most of my time exploring the island. Luckily Phuket excites me with many wonderful experiences as it always does. I love Phuket and I'm sure I'll be back again. But I'll not stay with Manathai.
