We stayed in 2 similar price range hotels in our last holiday in Nepal. Malla is way better. Room, bathroom, towels, bed sheet were all clean. We will definitely stay there again.

| "I would rate this hotel as a 2+ star hotel mainly because of the very old and sort of dirty rooms. I knew that I would have to lower my expectations in Kathmandu but I didn't think that it's that bad. When you arrive at this hotel you think it's actually a very nice one. It looks quite new from outside and also facilities like coffee Shop and Reception area looked quite good. But you will enter a new very bad world as soon as you enter one of the rooms. Beside the coffee shop they have 2 more theme restaurants. I think Indian and chinese. I wanted to eat something there and visit both restaurants but left after entering because those reaturants are actually set up in former meeting rooms and this is obvious. No atmosphere at all. Really a pity. The hotel has also a swimming pool but you have to be a Polar Bear to swim in it. I ordered 2 times room service. Food was good and for a reasonable price. Bell boys are very friendly and helpful but reception staff (the girls mainly) very unfreindly. I guess they are very stressed because of a lot of complains when guests arrive after entering their rooms for the first time.
The location is very good for Kathmandu. You are only 5 minutes walking distance away from the main tourist area of Thamel. Although the room rate is not very high I would never stay there again. Better to invest a little bit more money and stay in a nice hotel. Kathmandu is dirty enough. At least I want to stay in a clean room with a little bit of luxury after exploring the very busy city of Kathmandu. But I will be certainly back to Nepal (the fantastic nature of the Himalayas) and also to this city as it is very interesting over there, they have a great culture and plenty of very unusual things to see. " |

For travelers who desire only for comfort and hygiene, then hotel Marshyangdi is good enough." |

| "The Malla provides solid 4 star (ish) comfort although the rooms could do with a bit of refurbishment. The location is excellent - only a few minutes walk from the mayhem that is Thamel but far enough away to provide peace and quiet in its good gardens." |
