We stayed at the Vaishali because of it's close proximity to the Thamel district. I would rather put it into the three star category although our room and bathroom was clean and staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was ok.
The mattress was a bit like a board and there were powercuts every day which of course wasn't the hotels fault.
All in all we would probably stay there again because within minutes you are in the most wonderful shopping district in Kathmandu.There's also a good choice of clean Restaurants and Cafe's nearby.

| "As was planned we arrived at hotel on time and surprised to see the hotel almost vacant and very few guests. we were alloted room on 4th floor.
room was shabby and with dirty linen and literally nothing in the bathroom, as comparable to any other 4 star hotel. After repeated complaints they changed the linen.
very little choice for vegetarians to eat in the complementary breakfast.
Worse still, the AC was switched off in the night leading to disturbed sleep at midnight and despite repeated complaints, they continued to do the same every night to save on power. Also during day time for long stretches of time they continued to switch off AC.
Through out the stay no hot water supply in the bath room.
The approach to the hotel is through dirty narrow lane.
With all above lacunae, We can't rate this hotel more than 1* and I don't recommend any body to stay in this hotel.
As u realise, I am a flying captain of Indian Airlines and stay in best of 4* / 5* hotels all over India and abroad, but this is the first time I have not got my money's worth at all.
This is for ur kind info and necessary action please.

| "Staff was very nice and polite, but I will never say this is a 4 star hotel, maybe a 2 star one.. Most 3-4 star hotels in Kathmandu are like this, less than expected. We only had hot water showers when our neighbours next door didnt wake up earlier than us... The mirror in the toilet was not reflecting anything..
The room was clean and location is good." |
