| "I am a business traveller. This hotel is in the centre of the CBD and close to the Auckland Sky Tower/Casino, nearby restaurants and car rental agents.
The hotel is clean, friendly staff, lots of car parking at cost, and has a handy small supermarket near the lobby.
The hotel is a short walk to the Viaduct harbour district and ferry/train terminals.
The hotel room is quite large - with a large bathroom and flatscreen TV. The room I had only had views over the CBD.
I would certainly recommend this hotel for a business traveller working in the CBD wanting a central location in Auckland. I would stay at this hoel again." |

| "The hotel was positioned very well for shopping and sightseeing. The staff were extremely helpful and the quality of breakfast and dinner was of a high standard.
I even went back for another evening later in my holiday and was lucky to get in, with staff acknowledging my previous visit." |

| "My stay at the Crowne Plaza Hotel unfortunetly started badly as the room I was first shown to did not contain the King size bed I had payed for. I rang reception from the room and was told by the member of staff who had checked me in that a King Size bed WAS available and that I should return to reception to change rooms. However, in the 60 seconds that it took to return the room suddenly disappeared. In fact, I was told point blank that it had never existed. Huh? The member of staff I had been dealing with refused to meet my gaze or speak directly to me, and I was passed over to a new member of staff. The bad feeling created by the poor performance of the reception staff was simply unacceptable. At this point I was ready to walk out and accept the loss incurred having payed for the room in advance. The problem was sorted to an extent but when a guest is LIED to, it is difficult to feel anything but anger. Things got so bad that my new check in operator even asked me whether I wanted to check his computer if I did not believe him as to availability...Sorry??? At no time did a member of reception apologise for making an error. Totally unacceptable. What a shame as the hotel is really rather good. Although placed next to a parking lot which is very pleasant...The Hotel is nevertheless well located close to Sky City ect. Overall, the hotel is good but not great therefore, bearing in mind the history, I will not be staying at the Crowne Plaza on my next visit to Auckland. I don't know what the Copthorne is like but it is certainly better located for me so that will be my future choice. Hope this helps, regards Phil." |

| "I stayed at the Crown Plaza Auckland for 3 nights. This hotel is in a perfect location; just one block from the SkyTower, one block to the main downtown shopping and entertainment areas, and a 10 minute walk to the ferry terminal, train station, and the America's Cup Village. The hotel itself is connected to a small indoor shopping mall.
ALL of the staff were friendly and helpful. Check-in only took a few minutes. The concierge happily assisted me with tourism questions and provided me with free maps. Even the housekeeper greeted me each morning and asked if I was having a pleasant stay and told me that if I needed anything to just ask.
The room was good sized and tastefully furnished. The bed was especially comfortable and the comforter was a nice touch. There was an iron and ironing board in the room as well as an Internet connection for a small fee. The bathrooms were large with marble tiles on wall and floor. The bathroom had a tub AND separate shower. Very nice bathroom amenities were provided.
The Crown Plaza Auckland is an elegant hotel providing comfort and a great location at a reasonable price. I highly recommend this hotel." |
