| "This sadly was the worst hotel I stayed at in New Zealand over a period of a month
I complained at the time to the management and informed them that had I not paid in advance would have withheld payment
The principal complaint arose because there was dirty linen on the beds, which was not changed after an initial complaint, so that on day two we were still with the same dirty sheets that we had had to sleep on the night before, i.e. the initial complaint was not dealt with.

| "The Duxton Hotel rooms were very well presented and one can see that a lot of thought have been placed on amenities and utilising available space.
The staff were also very helpful and a pleasure to deal with.
Overall we were very happy with everything.

| "This hotel is one of the best kept secrets of North Island. The rooms are modern and attractive and more encouragingly the service was efficient and polite. We elected to move to the Duxton after a bad experience at the City Life in Auckland, who could learn a lot about customer-relations from the Duxton folk. Also the Duxton represents outstanding value for money." |
