We stayed over new year 2007 (family of 4 with 2 teenage daughters) & consequently paid over the odds. The hotel is well placed for all things central, but can get very noisy in the early hours especially if you are in the tower with sky tower view, because of a night club below, that bizarrely is allowed to open it's windows!! Hotel reception staff were always very helpful & the rooms good. Our only disappointment was the pool area which for a hotel at the top end of the market was a joke. A total of 12 sun beds with no cushions! As appears common with these establishments the pool & fitness centre allows non residential members to use the facilities....fair enough, but when the hotel is full & there are only 12 beds ? Many locals brought their own drinks in to celebrate new year. Result; pool out of use on new years day, broken glass around the pool & no staff on duty. Overall a good hotel with good staff & location, but the management need to get a grip.
