| "Our stay at Larnach Castle was wonderful. We were able to stroll around the beautifully manicure grounds at our leisure and the views were simply spectacular. Our room was very spacious and beautifully decorated, as were all the other rooms we looked at, each with a different theme (ours was the Rose Room). The staff were friendly and helpful and we even had a visit from the 18 year old Castle cat. The castle itself was well maintained and the rooms were interesting to look at. We would certainly stay there again." |

| "Lots of atmosphere at this lodge and if you look for something different to other hotels then come here. Beds were comfy & breakfast was really good. The staff were attentive and very pleasant to deal with. This place is not so easy to get to so plan to stay there until you leave next day or just explore close by - beautiful countryside." |

| "The location was great! Ideal for a romantic getaway! The view was stunning and even the drive there (along portabella) was beautiful. Room was clean and staff were friendly.
Unfotunately though we only had the one night therefore was unable to take full advantage of the location.
The only downfall is that we expected to stay in a castle and that they had a set menu for dinner, which was at the time a Christmas dinner.
In addition, if you are planning to drive there during the winter season when the roads are frosty, you may encounter some issues driving back down the hill. Luckily enough the roads were fine for us.
So if your after a relaxing, romantic getaway I would highly recommend Larnach Castle!" |

| "Our stay at Larnach Castle was the lodging highlight of a ten day road trip through the South Island of New Zealand. Set upon the top of a mountain overlooking the ocean and inlets the setting could not be beat !! Although the castle was built in the 1860's the lodging facilities were very comfortable and relaxing.
The group dinner in the castle dining room was an experience that combined an excellent menu selected by the chef with the ambience of the castle and an opportunity to visit with fellow travellers. The price is a little high but well worth the expense. The dining is definitely not for children.
The staff was most helpful and made us feel welcome from the moment we drove through the entry gate.
The mountain setting and the castle grounds made for a very relaxing break from the roadtrip routine.
We will return !!!" |
