Te Weheka has friendly staff, clean, breakfast is good and has a guest laundry (very helpful)and a guest lounge. They also have a lift, so you don't have to carry your heavy luggage and walk up the stair.
Te Weheka is situated next to a highway and there is a road in front of the room balconies, opposite are some containers. There is noise from traffic passing-by. Snow Mountain view only if you get into the balcony and turn 90 degrees.

| "The Weheka Inn was opened in 2002 and appears to be the newest lodging in the small town of Fox Glacier (population of approximately 400). It is centrally located with easy access (5 minute walk) to the general store and the limited number of restaurants and pubs in town. Access to tourist support including tour agencies, helicopter flight charters and mountain outfitters is also covenient.
The base of the Fox Glacier is a 15 minute drive or an easy extended hike from the town.
The Inn has a comfortable dining room for meals as well as a very nice guest lounge that is well appointed with fire place, comfortable sofas and chairs, e-mail access and plenty of reading material, games, etc. when a retreat from the rain is in order.
This was a great stop for those on a road trip of the South Island." |
