Hotel Review posted by Krishnakumar, United States in August 2004
This was an older style motel, with quiet and comfortable room. It was located around the main street of Richmond. There were supermarkets and shops near by the hotel. The menu in Applemans Restaurant looks wonderful, and I enjoyed a relaxed evening meal in the café bar, which is a friendly and cozy place. The little internal garden is a pleasant spot. Overall, this is a reasonable 3-star motel and guests will enjoy a comfortable nights sleep, a good and staffs were really friendly.

This Arthur Wakefield hotel review is the subjective opinion of an AsiaRooms customer and not of AsiaRooms.com.
"This is publicised as a peaceful, quiet location. It is, it's sandwiched between a shopping centre and an industrial estate which are both deserted at night! However it's clean and comfortable, the service is good and they have a vibrant bar/restaurant which serves excellent food and appears to be a hub of the local community. Important to note that it's not in Nelson but in Richmond, a nearby industrial area but overall was good value. "
"Not the most modern of rooms but they were clean and comfortable. Located in richmond rather than Nelson city centre which was about 15mins drive away. We had a hire car so this was no problem for us."
