"Very disappointed with facilities. Room was down a large flight of stairs which we had to drag our luggage down. Obviously parts of the Yacht Club have been renovated, but the room we stayed in was very old (think 1960's Gold Coast Motel), with dated bathroom, linen and carpet. Patio was raw concrete overlooking an elevated pool, and for a hotel on the harbour, we had an ocean glimpse from the balcony. A nearby door to easily exit to the main street outside was locked, so we had to keep going up stairs and thru 2 sets of heavy doors to get back to reception to go out. Room had a double and a single bed and limited PayTV. Could have booked next door at Beachcomber for $10 less, and wish we had! Room was almost half price of Yacht Club rooms listed for previous Saturday night - and now we know why!"
