| "Golden Oasis hotel is an average 3-star hotel located inconveniently in Wadi Al-Kabir area. It's only worthwhile to choose this hotel if you have a rental car (no public bus nearby and taxi is expensive). Relative to the 5-star hotels in Oman, this one is good for budget travelers...but don't expect too much. " |

| "The hotel was fine - except that it was a long way from everything (I was aware of this propr to the trip) and even though I did see bus stops - I didnt actually see a bus. The morning after I arrived I had "booked" a taxi (before I went to my room on arrival the night before)to take me to my business appoointment, and the staff weren't even aware (or had not bothered checking) of it. I found the attitude of the main staff (at reception) a totally indifferent attitude with no concern at all that I had to wait twenty minutes outside on the road for a taxi, and therefore making me half an hour late for my apointment (which I had come from India for) and that because of it, I had to wait two and a half hours at the office, until I could then be seen.
Someone who is wishing to get to sleep before three in the morning, should not really book this hotel, unless you are on the fourth floor or above - and even then be aware that you will get woken up constantly by guests who are not concerned about how much noise they make when retiring to their rooms.
The breakfast was, as someone else here has put, very sparse and it seemed absolutely impossible to have it brought to your room, so I borrowed a tray each morning and went to get it myself - not a lot of bother, but a little inconvenient as I had to dress for the dining room. Saying that, however, I am an early riser and it was no bother at all for room service to bring a pot of coffee to me at 5.am - they were grand altogether about this every morning.
The hotel is a very nice hotel, rooms wise, though I only saw mine of course and was well worth the money.
The one thing I was more peturbed about than anything else was the fact that Asiarooms deducted the entire amount from the credit card more than a week before I arrived - and I found this to be very disturbing. If it had not been for this fact, and that I stood to lose money, I would have thought about moving hotels after they messed up with the taxi as this had been the most important thing for me in my entire trip - but as they had already deducted the full amount of my four night stay, I felt I had no options than to stay there." |

| "Not a bad spot if you have your own transport. Taxi's and bus service available though.
Breakfast a bit sparse but not bad.
Only drawback at the moment is construction work taking place in front of the hotel." |
