Well the bathrooms had no tub, and were in need of some basic repair. The rooms were quaint but offered no closet space or and drawer space at all, only a very small shelving unit. The service was very good and the chef i would consider world class. The overall stay was a good one with the landscape and the food being the best part of the stay.

| "lots of creepy crawlies in the room everyday. some staff were very unhelpful and downright rude but most were very good.

| "The resortis ok...BUT...there is very little to do outside of the resort itself..( There are no bikes or motor cycles to rent), and i did feel a little trapped there. There are boat trips,scuba diving etc, but nothing much else.
If you want a very,very quiet holiday..this is for you.The hotel provides no nightlife whatsover, apart from a very average guitarist/singer who plays in the dining area
One other thing...the menu is very limited, and after a few days i thnk you will be wanting to try something different...and that is a taxi ride away !" |

| "The best thing about staying at Tambuli Beach Club East, was that it allowed us to enter Tambuli Beach Club West, where there is an excellent swimming lagoon. Tambuli deserve top rating for this pool, where we spent most of our time. It`s nice that by staying at one of their three neighbouring resorts, you actualy get access to all of them. This combined and big resort is really nice, especialy for families with children (like us).
But you can just forget about their beach. Yes, they have a wide beachfront, stretching from one resort to another. But don`t mind going there. It`s dirty, and you will be harrassed by people trying to sell you something. We went there once, but after having been harassed by 1. a guy trying to sell us a boat ride 2. a couple trying to sell us souvenirs 3. a guy trying to sell us jet ski 4. some other people trying to sell us souvenirs 5. another guy trying to sell us jet ski 6. another guy trying to sell us a boatride. Well, you get the picture. The beach is dirty and not suitable for swimming, and when you can`t even take a stroll in peace, there is no use in going there. That first guy trying to sell us a boatride even came all the way up to our room, and kept nagging about his boatride for a couple of days until he gave up. To be honest, we actualy accepted a boatride from that last guy who offered us, and it was an excellent day at the sea, visiting beautiful islands and coral reefs. It`s not that what they are offering is not nice. Sure, I can recommend taking a boatride. It was fantastic ! It`s just that I want to decide for myself if and when I want to take a boatride. If I want to take a boatride, I will come and ask for it. This constant harrassment is downright annoying and a major turn off from ever coming here again.
Another thing that really annoyed me was their service. You get the impression that you are there at their mercy, and not the other way around. You get the impression that the staff only care about how much money they can squeeze out of you, and not what they can do to make your stay as comfortable and memorable as possible. You want a can of hot water delivered to your room ? Well, you better give the guy who delivers it a big tip. First of all, he will not go away until you do. And second, if you don`t you can just forget about having that can of hot water delivered the next time. You want to collect your free welcome drink in their restaurant and take it with you and enjoy it at the pool ? Well, they will greet you with big smiles then, until you tell them that you only want the free welcome drink and that you want to bring it with you to the pool. Watch how their smiles and friendliness towards you quickly disappears then. You almost feel thankful that they will get you that free welcome drink at all. You want to buy cigarettes in their restaurant ? Well, fine it costs 60p. But you only have 100p ? Well, that`s a big problem then, because even if they are a restaurant handling alot of money, they can`t give you back change on 100p. Now, since you really crave for those cigarettes, and this is the only place to get it, they know that you will crumble and say "keep the change". So that`s another 40p they squeeze out of you. These are just some examples of how their main goal seems to be how to squeeze you dry, and not how to make you comfortable. It does not make you want to come back, that`s for sure.
To add to all of this, rates are rather expensive. Free breakfast is then not included. And the rooms need to be renovated. Atleast in the east wing, where we stayed. Well, everything isn`t negative. Their big and beautiful resort (except the beach) has already been mentioned. And their restaurant offers an excellent menu. Food was really delicious ! All in all, I would actualy concider coming back because of their nice resort, but I will probably not because of all the harassment from people trying to sell something, and because of how the staff made me feel. I will probably rather go to some place where I feel welcome and well treated, no matter if I give a tip or buy something or not. Actualy, I will probably even give a good tip and buy alot of things where I feel that they are not just aftering something in me.
