"nice!"

"Location on ugly street. Water warm but not hot in bathroom. Shower designed so that water will flood on floor regardless of how you adjust the shower curtain. Tub very small. Rooms are good size but not sound-proofed - lots of noise from other rooms. Hotel staff quite good and efficient. Breakfast buffet a 7.5 on a ten scale, quality food but limited variety. For 8 or 9 dolars more the Holiday Inn Galleria offers much more and is not far away."

"great buffet breakfast , great service but what a let down when you get to your room and find the bathroom is so small that its a joke . also the room letter telling you that every thing will be charged if it is missing including face towels . we found it to be a noisy hotel .makes you feel like a criminal before you unpack. the hotel is hard to find because of all the one way streets. we will never stay there again . crowne plaza is a better stay ."

"This is the 2nd time I'm staying with Astoria. As usual, I had a good time staying there. The staffs were helpful and friendly. "

"Problem at check-in. we had 2 rooms booked (we are a family of 6) but were placed in rooms three floors apart. After considerable argument, we had to change the booking to ensure we had adjacent rooms. Not a good experience after a long flight. The worst part of our stay was the drilling and building work in the room next to us which was being refurbished. Starting every day at 8am, this was a constant irritation, and we had to complain to the front desk constantly. This is unacceptable. If guest rooms have to be refurbished, then all adjacent rooms should be left empty to avoid inconveniencing guests. Hotels should understand this without having to have it pointed out to them! Location is a bit out of the way from where we really wanted to be but we knew that beforehand so no gripe there. Other than the drilling work, the staff were attentive and helpful. The rooms are an excellent size and the hotel is very clean. we would probably not stay here again because of the location, but that's a personal thing for us."

"If you are looking for an absolutely clean, contemporary and comfortable suite, Astoria Plaza is the place. We loved the condo/apartment style layout of the room as well as the convenience of having the deli-market and other misc. shops on the ground floor!! The living & dining layout was spacious and comfortable which made the bedroom a bit small. If you are big & tall, make sure to ask for a king size bed. We also found a small second shower/toilet behind the kitchen which is a great space for someone who likes privacy. The kitchen was equipped with a med. size pot, a small frying pan, gas stove and a microwave. But if you use their dish soap & sponge, they will charge you, so bring your own supplies. On our last day in the Phil., after a good breakfast buffet, we spent the lazy morning resting at "home" at Astoria. We also stayed 2 nights at the Diamond Hotel by the bay. The room & service were truly 5-star and we loved it. But with the same amount of money, we will definitely stay at Astoria for our next stop in Manila. "

"Astoria Plaza's modern contemporary feel, cleanliness, prompt service is a gd contrast to the pollution n congestions in the streets. located in a quiet street, it is abt 10 mins walk to SM Megamall, Shangri-La Plaza. although thr is only one restaurant, its great that thr is variety in the breakfast rm every day. an in house spa (ard 800php, S$27 only) for a decent massage, but decor nothing to scream abt. the pool is quite small, we prefered more privacy hence did not use it. thr is not many facilities along the street, some korean restaurants (many of them in MNL anyway), a MiniStop convenient store). feels pretty safe to me. after staying in Salcedo Suite(apartmt in Makati, pls dn go thr), we appreciate Astoria Plaza 20K times more! recommended."

"It was my first visit to metro Manila area. I found Astoria Plaza Hotel on AsiaRooms.com after a businees associate who had previous trips to Manila referred me to the website. Long story short, I made the right choice of selecting Astoria Plaza Hotel stay during my trip. I will definitely book my lodging there again on my lnext trip to metro Manila. By the way, the complimentary shuttle service to/from MegaMalls and surrounding malls which was a side benefit not listed on the net. Great mode of transportation to/from the malls. "

"Astoria Plaza is a gem!! I was here early March 2007 and still have the cell numbers of the very helpful staff. Very clean place. Housekeeping is actually a team of about 4 to 5 people that come in and do a completely thorough cleaning including vacuuming. For the very reasonable price, I was given a one bedroom suite. It was huge with a seperate "dinette area" and full service kitchen with stove, pots/pans and silverwear. Food was very good and my booking included breakfast. The area around the hotel is safe and convenient to banks, mini-marts, etc. You cannot go wrong booking here rather than the higher priced hotels in Makati."
