My wife and I stayed at the Allson recently and found the hotel to be adequate and in a good location. It's a short walk to the Metro, Raffles Hotel, etc.
The buffet breakfast was pretty good as well. It's a full service hotel, (ie. swimming pool, gym, etc.) The only downside was the hotel decor looked dated (if you're into the early 80's retro look you'll do fine) On the plus side they have a coin laundry on the premises (you don't see that too often in hotels! just bring your own detergent) which came in handy for us. Staff were friendly and helpful when we needed them.

| "The rooms are oldfashioned and the breakfast is poor in comparison to other hotels in Singapore. But the location is great and the hotel is also not far from the MRT stations Bugis and Dhoby Gaut. The rooms are clean and especially the porters are very helpful and friendly. Overall a correspondent value for the paid money." |

| "We booked the Allson Hotel as we had used it before, but we won't be using it again. It was our honeymoon, we booked a deluxe room and ended up with a broom cupboard, two people could not get into the bathroom at the same time and I was only trying to dry my wifes hair. The breakfast was as we remembered it, very good and the staff most helpfull. The hotel needs a good clean and is in need of re decoration, we were very dissapointed." |
