| "Room was ok, size good. Unfortunately they gave us smoking room and we could not change even we asked many times. Room could be a bit cleaner. Location good, 3 minutes from subway. I would not stay again, for this price you get a better hotel in Singapore." |

| "Very pleasant hotel, recently renovated, great beds. It's in convenient location in the commercial district, a couple of minutes walk to an MRT station, connected to a small but very useful shopping mall (including internet store). Hotel has good 20 metre swimming pool, nice gym. These are never crowded during the day or weekend as most guests are business travellers. The hotel also has a great range of restaurants and bars. Some are high end dining/award winners, some very reasonably priced casual.
Staff are genuinely friendly and very helpful.
High floor rooms are much nicer with big views; our 1st room was on a lower floor and quite dark as it looked onto a narrow street of high rise buildings.
On the front desk, avoid the trainees and head for the experienced staff!
Great value

| "The hotel is strategically located nearby MRT station, hawker center and supermarket. I would recommend my friends to stay there, and book through this website because it worth the price" |

| "The service is okey except that the bathroom towels are a bit worn out. I hope they can provide telephone directory in the rooms so that we dont have to call concierge for any information." |

| "Compared with other hotel we stayed in Singapore for the same price, Amara didn't impress us much. The location was not that nice and their room was too basic with the stained carpet. We requested a non-smoking room, but ours was a smoking one. The conditioning didn't allow us to regulate the temperature (not sure whether it was broken or set up like that), so we ended up freezing the whole night. " |

| "I was hugely disappointed in this hotel. When I booked it through asiarooms I expected it to be a 4+ star hotel. When I arrived after a long flight the lobby certainly indicated this. Then it all deteriorated.
At check in I advised I had booked online but reception staff steadfastly denied it and told me repeatedly that I had booked via travel agent (the reason for this disagreeable attitude remained unknown to me). Finally I was curtly handed my card and told my room was on the 8th floor - without telling me my room number. I had to ask the concierge to decipher the handwritten number on my door key pocket to find out my room number!
I then got to my room and discovered I had been allocated to a twin room (2 single beds). I had booked and paid for a queen bed 1 month earlier, so I rang reception and asked for a queen bed room. I was then told there was no other room available and the fact that I had "booked" a queen room (and paid for it) only constituted a room request which they couldn't and wouldn't comply with.
Disgruntled, I decided to have a bath - only to find that the bath tap wasn't properly sealed to the bath, so the bath would only 3/4 fill. From my bath position I also noted that the timber vanity was timber veneer with most of the veneer missing and the underneath mdf board water damaged and mildewed. Detered I decided to have a shower in the marble shower, only to realise that the top of the shower wasn't marble - it was mould and mildew around the shower top and ceiling.Disgusting! On a general review the bathroom was decidedly in need of a proper clean and renovation. I would not have rated the bathroom higher than 2 stars, if that.
As a regular business traveller in asia my standards have to be flexible, so long as the facilities are what is promised and clean. Unfortunately this hotel delivered neither. " |

| "Stayed at the amara several times now.Good location near Tanjong pagar MRT. We also catch the bus (80 & 145 from memory) which take you to the river and near the raffles hotel. Breakfast very good. Gym is also adequate and rarely used by guests so not crowded. Pool is very pleasant and never crowded.
Can walk from hotel to chinatown and maxwells hawker centre.
Staff friendly and efficient. all hotels in singers have gone up in price recently. We paid A$200 per night which I think is getting up there. Supermarket across the road which stocks a modest range of wine.
Overall we like the Amara." |

| "Was given a 'Twin' room because I was told by the Front Office that this was a arrangement made with Asiarooms. Could not select 'Double' room as Asiarooms did not provide a field for it during reservations. Perhaps Asiarooms can look into this.
Generally a 4-stars hotel. You get what you pay for.
Hotel's location was good. Supermarkets and food outlets were available opposite the hotel. There was a shopping mall beside the hotel as well. Public transportation and taxis are available readily.
Breakfast was good with a good variety of westen and asian food. " |
