| "A great place. 2 minutes walk from Newton MRT station, so you don't have to take a taxi or the airport shuttle from and to the airport. 5 minutes walk from Orchard Road, the heart of the city life, and in the same time in a quiet luxurous residential area. Big windows (not guaranted in Singapore where some hotels have rooms with no windows at all) and from rooms looking both to the street and in the opposite direction, you see nice green parks. Our room was spacious enough, equipped with everything you could need for a week's stay, and just cosy. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. We went to Singapore for a scientific conference, so we needed to use a portable computer, and the hotel provided a free adapter which can be a problem eslewhere. If you need Internet connection, I would recommend to use the two computers in the lobby where you pay 1 Singapore dollar for 15 minutes which is a good price for Singapore. There is also a wireless connection, but you pay 5 dollars for 1 hour and even if you have used just a few minutes of it, it is gone the moment you log off and you can't use the reminder later. The check-out time is 12, but you can leave your luggage until your departure time and use the toilets in the lobby to refresh and change before leaving. Will definitely stay there again if I happen to go to Singapore again." |

| "Location is perfect. It's near MRT station and just few minutes walk to Orchard Road. Every room is not equal condition; Furnitures in my room is ugly and old, but my mother got room with nice furnitures. No big deal for budget traveler as long as clean and cheap. Bathroom is old and sometimes it's hard to flush." |

| "I choose Asia Hotel because it's closed to orchard road and MRT station at Newton, it takes only 3 minutes by walking, it's easier to me if I want to go to many location or shopping using MRT, room is OK for bussiness trip or families if you like shopping cause it's closed to orchard road. I might consider to go back to Asia Hotel next time." |

| "The Asia Hotel is ideally situated just off Scotts Road, around a 10 minute walk from Orchard Road. The area is in a quiet area, although I was 'serenaded' by some drunken europeans of unknown origion. This was on my first night, just what I didn't need after a long flight from the UK! However, the matter was dealt with by the duty manager eventually.
Apart from this minor incident, I had an enjoyable stay. The hotel was very clean and the staff polie and helpful. Breakfast was a bit hit or miss, with a limited choice. However, the food was OK.
Would return again if I went back to Singapore. " |

I requested for a NONE SMOKING ROOM...n the room is "STINNED" with cigarrete smoke." |

| "The best thing going for this hotel is it's location - 10 minute walk to Orchard road shopping centre, and a 2 minute walk to the MRT station.
Since I last stayed at the Asia I have noticed that it is now showing signs of it's age. It is becoming a little run down. The bed sheets were patched and the A/C could not be turned off.
The breakfast was poor - with the "hot" food being cold ( on all 4 days).
However, the staff were friendly and it was good value for money.

| "We stayed at the hotel towards end of June last month. The most outstanding person I would say is Ms. Lin. I think she is the supervisor on the 4th floor. We had asked for a triple sharing and got 3 beds instead of 1 double and 1 single. For the price I was not about to complain. Anyway, the extra bed was a spring w/ a mattress and was like lying in a hammock, not good for the back. We asked for a piece of plywood to be placed under the mattress. She said she will do so. When we came back it was a whole new bed with a firm mattress. Thank you Ms. Lin. The front desk is as what other people have said very friendly and accomodating. The bellman was quite helpful. For the rate we were paying, the staff rate 4 or 5 star service level(in some case they may even put the 5 star staff to shame).
We appreciate the free buffet breakfast. It was not fantastic but again for the price quite good. Don't expect too much creativity though. It's pretty much the same day in and day out. But there is that one lady that really looks very harassed. I think she needs a vacation. She would definitely look more pleasant if she smiled. Though I must say she seems to be working a lot. So maybe they may have to give her some help here as well as remind her to smile.
The location is ok. For the price and including transportation, it was cheaper to stay here than being on Orchard. However when your feet are dead tired from carrying all that weight, being on Orchard was a thought I was seriously considering. I did not bring walking shoes and did not see any shoes of my type or requirement.
If I were on business, I'd come back again. On a shopping trip, I'm not too sure. But on a budget, yes Asia is the best I've seen for the price we paid." |
