| "The staff is not friendly at all especially receptionist and not helpful at all. They act as if the hotel is belong to them and do not prior or understand customer needs.
There's only one staff, a concierge, very polite and carry all our luggage from we checked-in till checked-out. We really appreciate his effort!
Room is small and the aircon position is not good. The temperature is not adjustable.

| "The room is so small. This is the smallest hotel room that I have ever been to. For such a room rate, I think it is just too small. The breakfast is lousy, a very budget type. Due to the hotel lack of space, the breakfast is by the road side which is not so hygiene. The only good point is the location of the hotel. Else, no good memories... " |

| "Good points: personal welcoming and friendly. Facilities acceptable with almost everything needed.
Near the Orchard road, quiet and clean enough.
Bad points:room actually too small. Bad aircon system. Breakfast so so.
Good for short holidays but too expensive for what it brings." |

| "Great location, very basic otherwise and the room was tiny. We booked a twin and the only room they had available was a triple" |

| "The Bencoolen Hotel is well-located and easy to find. As a budget hotel, it is nothing fancy, but absolutely adequate for those who plan to spend most of their time out and about.
The staff were friendly and accommodating, especially the bellboy who always greeted us with a friendly smile and a hello.
The standard room we stayed in was very small, but comfortable enough. The bed and pillows were very nice. It is a bit annoying that the air-conditioning cannot be controlled from within the room - you have to call downstairs to have it adjusted.
Breakfast was ok - nothing really special. The self-service toaster was slow and downright dangerous (you have to toast each side of the bread separately, and it would be easily to burn yourself).
The swimming pool is very small, but very well-maintained and really quite lovely.
Bright and cheery, and well recommended for those who are looking for budget accommodation." |

| "The hotel was ideally located for sightseeing and for the MRT. In addition to that, the hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful to us.
The initial room that I was given by the hotel was a corner room with a connecting door to the next room. It was rather noisy so I asked to change rooms. Thankfully the manager agreed to switch us to a quieter room.
The breakfast was also a bit bland. It could have done with a bit more variety to baked beans and fried eggs.
Overall, I'd say for the price of the hotel, 3/5 is a reasonable rating." |

| "the room i stayed at (701) was small but very clean. the bathroom was also good considering the small space given. the downside is that the airconditioning can't be directly controlled in the room and you have to call the front desk for it. the tv also had only 5 or 6 channels but the good thing was there two english channels. breakfast was not so good as well.
excellent location. one bus stop can be reached via a one-minute walk, the other in 2 to 3 minutes.. dhoby ghaut station can be reached by a long walk or by taking a bus to the YMCA station then doing a quick walk.
overall, i had an excellent stay." |

| "This hotel gave us more than we expected, in a positive way.
The doorkeeper/consierge was really nice and responded to all our needs, such as letting us store our bags in a locked room while we where waiting for our check-in. Meanwhile we could go out shopping. Perfect!
The room was small but nice and very clean.
The only thing that was not so good was that we couldnīt control the aircon directly from our room. We where told to let the receptionist know if we wished to change the temperature. It was very cold... but we helped ourselves by using a warm blanket from the wardrobe inside the room. Perfect!" |

| "The room was tiny - We actually had trouble putting our bags down and had a terrible view of a lane and the rest of the hotel out our window. The room was, however, clean and provided soaps, shampoo, toothbrushes etc. Their was a pool which was good to refresh in and the brekkie was good. The staff were also very nice. Next time I would pay more to get more but the price was OK for Sinagpore and the location was walking distance to most things." |

| "The location of the Bencoolin was very good. Everything else was awful. Small room, nowhere to put a suit case. Worn out carpet and wall paper pealing off the walls. A/C controls are locked so you have to call the front desk to change temp or fan speed. Room safe did not work. Breakfast was a small limited buffet with cold eggs and ham and baked beans! I will never stay here again. Should be rated one star." |
