Well - I was a bit dubious about the Carlton, reports on the building work were worrying. But I was looking for cheap, good accom. and that is exactly what I found.
Most of the building work in the main building is completed, reception and restaurants etc are done, but they are building an additional block and also a swimming pool, but you get little or no aggravation from that.
The public areas of the hotel are stunning. The rooms are good, but not exceptional. But it is amazingly well located, right next to Raffles hotel and less than 5 minutes to an MRT station.
Overall. I would highly recommend the carlton for anyone travelling to Singapore. You will not find better value for money.

| "Carlton Hotel is very good location. It's important condition for the travelers, I think.
Hotel is constructing additional part. So, Construct area can interrupt the view from your window.
Breakfast is good to me. enough bread.
I don't have any complain. nice hotel.

| "Except the carpets which should be chnaged/cleaned, expecially in the corridor, the stay was OK. The view, described as ideal on the hotel web site, is finally not as expected for the majority of the rooms.
Breakfast is correct but not exceptional. Staff is efficient." |

| "No porters avaliable to help with the baggage. Rooms need to be refurbished. Bathroom was extremly small.
Breakfast area was very small, was crowded at all times. This was the first hotel ive come across that does not serve complimentary water.. Overall rating unsatisfactory. Only plus point is its close to the MRT station and raffles shopping mall. " |

| "Thank you Carlton Hotel for a memorable stay - the staff were very friendly and helpful, my room, facilities & amenities all fantastic. Travelling alone, I found the location perfect being close to shopping Centres, attractions and access to train.

| "We don't recommend to stay at this hotel during weekend especially if they put you under 15 floor, the reason is the hotel is located at opposite of chimes bars, restaurant and entertainment centre, and the noise they make is unbelieavable loud. When we complain at 01.00 in the morning , we found out that this is not the first time quests complaining about this, but the management argued, they said sometimes it is loud another time not. What ever reason they should not put quest in the room before they replaced the sound proof of the rooms with adequate ones. tks" |
