Hotel Review posted by Jacqueline Lim, Singapore in March 2005

The customer service officer at the counter wasn't wearing any smile at all. Especially to fellow singaporeans. Wasn't pro-active to offer what other options i can look at e.g view of room, smoking room??.Waiters at the complimentary breakfast restaurant again wasn't wearing a smile and i need to ask few times for my fork & spoons before i really get them.

Room for deluxe is pretty ok but a painting on the wall should make it nicer. It'll be better to add a tea table rather then a 90 degree fixed sofa facing the door. I wonder what was that for?

Only best thing is the toilet..Toilet is cool especially with the look through window.

Overall, service in Le Meridien Changi Village hotel need to improve especially while checking in & out counter.

"The hotel was exactly like the images we had seen on the internet. location was great for changi prison museum and there is even a free bus once a day to it. however we just got a local bus to add to experience something different. check in and check out took some time you would have thought they would get more people on in a situation where lots of people are queuing. The room was fab. we were facinated by the glass window between the bathroom and the room itself. volume control was avaiable in the bathroom. only one thing that could be an issue if desperate for sleep. the way the hotel is set up allows for noise from the cdntral resaurant and bar area up the stories abouve where most of the rooms are. some rooms do not on look this. it is nice to have the view of this but can be noisey in mornign and at night. we went to the italian restaurant at the top of the hotel. it was great. food good and value for money. views even though we went at night were great. the pool at the bottom and top of hotel are great. it is good for the airport and buses leave every hour."

"The smell of stale cigarette smoke in the first room we were offered was terrible despite it being on a non-smoking floor. The second room was marginally better but when we unpacked our clothes after flying to the UK they smelt of smoke. If we could be guaranteed a suitable truly non-smoking room we would certainly stay again. The location is good and access to the City by Pulic Transport is easy."

"The Hotel is located in Changi Village a fifteen minute taxi ride from the airport. It was perfect for my over night transit stop in Singapore. The room was very well designed and comfortable. They have an excellent room service menu. There is a well stocked shop in the foyer. The staff were excellent. I took the free shuttle to the airport in the morning. I would definitely use this hotel if I need to transit in Singapore again."

"Perfect hotel for our needs. We were travelling with our 2 year old son, we hadn't asked for a cot but were offered one and it was delivered to the room very quickly. We stayed for one night, stopping over on route to NZ. It was 15 minutes from the airport by taxi costing about 15 Singapore dollars. Excellent breakfast buffet, very good dinner in the restaurant and good service all round."
