Hotel Review posted by Peggy, Australia in April 2005

Had a two night stay with 3 small children prior to visitng Tokyo and found the staff at the Le Meridien Changi Village very welcoming and friendly.  We had two rooms with an interconnecting door (as requested) and even had breakfast included which was a pleasant surprise since we didn't think was included in our quote.  Front desk was very efficient in helping us check out quickly at 4.45am to the airport as well as to order a taxi for us.  Food at the restaurant was pretty good (if the kids like it, it's good enough for me!).  Good value for money.

"The smell of stale cigarette smoke in the first room we were offered was terrible despite it being on a non-smoking floor. The second room was marginally better but when we unpacked our clothes after flying to the UK they smelt of smoke. If we could be guaranteed a suitable truly non-smoking room we would certainly stay again. The location is good and access to the City by Pulic Transport is easy."

"The Hotel is located in Changi Village a fifteen minute taxi ride from the airport. It was perfect for my over night transit stop in Singapore. The room was very well designed and comfortable. They have an excellent room service menu. There is a well stocked shop in the foyer. The staff were excellent. I took the free shuttle to the airport in the morning. I would definitely use this hotel if I need to transit in Singapore again."

"Perfect hotel for our needs. We were travelling with our 2 year old son, we hadn't asked for a cot but were offered one and it was delivered to the room very quickly. We stayed for one night, stopping over on route to NZ. It was 15 minutes from the airport by taxi costing about 15 Singapore dollars. Excellent breakfast buffet, very good dinner in the restaurant and good service all round."

"This hotel is welcoming and friendly and the staff were polite, courteous and helpful. The room was spacious and comfortable with a good standard of furnishings and cleanliness. We found the bar a little dark and unwelcoming and although we were given a drinks menu fairly quickly we were then ignored. This is the second time we have stayed at the hotel and both times this happened. We left without buying a drink! The Italian restaurant was very nice indeed and had lovely views with a pretty roof terrace and swimming pool on the same level. "
