Would I stay at this location
again:

Most likely
This hotel is just right for tourists who plan to spend the whole day going around Singapore. It's enough for a good night's rest. Double rooms were ok in size, but the triple was cramped, with little space to move around. Hotel staff were friendly. It felt nice to be welcomed by a fellow Filipino upon arrival. Made us feel comfortable. Just don't call the hotel looking for their reservations officer, that lady was just so rude... And her reply emails were nothing to look forward to because they did not contain even half the amount of information we requested. Limited mini-bar. Breakfast was bread, small meat or curry pies (some sort of empanada), hard boiled eggs, coffee, tea, juice and water. I think there was cereal but I didn't have time to really look at the food as I was in a hurry to leave. If this is the breakfast served everyday, I'd get tired after just 2 days. Perfect location, 2 minutes walk to the 24 hour department store (where you can find everything -groceries, electronics, clothes, bags, even jewelry!), and to the Farrer Park MRT station. I had a nice stay and I'd recommend this hotel to groups of friends, but wouldn't recommend it to couples.

"It was a very bad experience. I have been to singapore umpteen times and the service always has been excellent But this time around, the receptionist on duty at 1 pm should be taken to task. She was rude, unprofessional and downright uncouth. Her manner of asking for the Passport should have alerted me. However, it was her insistence that I pay $20 as deposit for the mini bar in the room that cut the cake. On my query as to where this rule was displayed, she failed to show it to me and then threatened not to give me the room unless I pay up. I insisted that all such rules have to be prominently displayed and which the Mgt apparent;y had failed in doing so. The only thing notated was that one will have to pay for anything consumed from the mini bar. As she was insisting that I pay up or else leave, I asked her for a refund .But that too was denied. At this , I told her to get me her supervisor. At first she balked . But then got someone on the phone. I reasoned with the gentleman that no such sign was posted and I was within my rights not to hand that deposit. On checking with the receptioinst and after asking her to read the displayed notice, he had to agree with my interpretation and I finally got the key. I wish this would have ended there. But there was more to come. On reaching my room, I dialled O and the bell rang and rang. (Basically,The phone was ringing at her end and she was not picking up). As I was on the 2nd fool I did not cut off the call and just walked down to the front desk. The 'Queen' was sitting there .the bell was ringing and she was just not picking up. I just told her to get me an iron and did not say anything else. There were some other minor irritants. But the evening Receptioinst was nice and made up for the bad behavior of the earlier one. "

"The rooms were not properly cleand. The emergency exit was blocked by beds and other stuff. The hotel had problems with mould in our bathroom. The staff was friendly and we could change room."

"I found the room and particulalrly the advertising on the net to be very misleading if not completely false. The hotel could not be called recently renovated when the wall paper was falling off the walls and the bathroom had no shower curtain and was very dirty. I am sure this will not be published but you never know...."

"most of the rooms smelled pretty bad of mold/mildew and there was mold on the walls, ceiling, etc. The original room that they gave us had no shower curtain and was really smelly...we had to move. The "cleanest" room, which we stayed in, didn't have a functioning AC unit, but they did bring us a fan for the room."

"Dear Sir/Madam, Thank you for giving me a room in Claremont. However there are a few things that I wasn't very happy about. The first thing were the insects in my bed. I reported that and i had to change my room frequently. My brother & sister-in law were also staying there and in the morning, they woke with insect bites. Other customers also had the same problem and they had reported to the receptionists. Please check with them. I believe that the spray isn't very effective to deal with these. It can give out a very strong smell. It seemed to me that these insects live in wooden beds. It is advisable to have these bed replaced by iron ones. I booked my room through the internet and the receptionist took some time to sort out my reservation with the agent. I had already paid the full amount but still I had to wait for her to check with the agent. It will be advisable that the management deals with their agents and leave customers out of this. It causes inconvenience to the customers. I will like to stay in the hotel next time I'm in Singapore because of its good location, near Mustafa, taxi stand and the MRT. Overall the attitude of the staffs towards customers were good. But I don't think I will do so if the problem with the insects isn't solved. $75 per night wasn't justifiable for the inconveniences we went through. "
