Room was pretty big and has the basics. Would be better if there was a clock in the room. A bit far to carry heavy luggage to there from the MRT station.

| "I arrived at night to be told my reservation had been cancelled . If I wanted to stay I had to pay in cash . At that time , in that area there was not a lot of choice . I was given a key and went up to a small , hot room .
Next morning at 8.30 , I was told that they would have it checked by 10 . I found somewhere for breakfast , and on return reception told me that someone had made a mistake and cancelled my reservation by mistake , but I couldn't get a refund until that evening . After insisting , they eventually refunded me . By the time I was able to set off for sightseeing on my one full day in Singapore , it was late morning . Great way to start a holiday .
The prostitutes were not a problem , but the main street nearby tended to make me feel uncomfortable - it had more a feel of a 3rd world country where one would imagine "something unpleasant" could occur at any time - even if it didn't !
My stay here was a good example of getting what you pay for - well almost ! " |

| "Fragrance Crystal Hotel Singapore was good value for money for us. It is simple but clean and I actually was surprised by the size of the room as I read some comments suggesting it was really small. Staff could be a bit more attentive though (whenever we asked some questions we did have the feeling they are not really interested in helping us).
Be aware that the hotel is in the Singapore "red light district" and if you do not feel comfortable with it, better stay away. However it is not in any way noisy or otherwise dangerous." |

| "I stayed at the Crystal recently with my family (all adults) for 8 days and the overall experience was good. It's in the "red-light" zone, hence it may not be proper for family with children. Within minute walk you can find MRT, bus stops, 7-11, supermarkets and most importantly various types of food store from local to international. The hotel room is tidy and clean but a bit small, afterall it's a budget hotel. The staff is friendly and very helpful. They provide daily change of towels, bedsheets, tooth-brush, drinking water and coffee, and it's free. Pay internet is available both inside the room and in the lobby. I would recommend this hotel to any budget travellers without hesitation. " |

| "No shower curtain in bathroom. Towels could be better. Staff is friendly, helpful and courteous. Location is okay for male budget travellers. You should be aware that the hotel is in the red light district so not good for families with kids but area seems to be safe just lots of hookers though they dont seem to be too aggressive to bother you. Room is small but adequate. Good enough to sleep in but not much of anything. Will stay in the hotel again if on a limited budget. Train station is about 10 mins walk. " |
