| "Our four night stay was eventually pleasant. The breakfast was excellent and the room was comfortable, and the views in our final room were brilliant.
We paid the extra for a superior room when we first booked. Before confirmation the hotel came back and said they wanted extra money to the published price because it was a busy period. We agreed, but this action raised our expectations.
We arrived in Singapore very tired at 3am. We were told we had a choice between two rooms: one with twin beds (we'd specified a king or queen bed) or one with no view and noisy because it was next to the lift shaft (the receptionists words, not mine). We chose the twin bedded room, also with no view, just to get a bed for the first night. We asked to be moved the next morning and were told it would be no problem. We then found ourselves in the room next to the lift shaft! A further complaint and a discussion about just what we had paid (very expensively) for resulted in a move to an accceptable room. The staff were reasonably helpful, but if we had not been tenacious we would not have been allocated an acceptable room.
Noise from building work on the 4th floor (7 days per week, 12 hrs per day) and the headache-inducing smell of solvent cement from carpet laying operations were an annoyance, and made us feel that we did not receive good value for money.Despite this we would probably consider staying here again because of the location, the excellent breakfasts and the overall comfort.
Two lessons learned: 1. Singapore seems to have increased in price tremendously because of the lack of sufficient hotel accommodation. 2. Need to be firm when discussing what is acceptable in terms of room standards." |

| "Although I had booked this room for my two sons whilst my wife and I stayed at Raffles as part of a cruise package. We did visit the hotel several times and also had a buffet dinner at the hotel. I saw this hotel a clean and comfortable. Close to food outlets and good shopping. I'm not " |

| "Excellent for location, cleanliness, restaurants, bar, swimming pool, gym but considering the size of this hotel think more staff were needed at reception. I would go back as good value for money. Only thing that annoyed me was no room for me on arrival. I was told first come first served and had to wait 45 minutes for a room to be ready - not good when you've had a long flight!!" |

| "Perfect location in Chinatown, with MRT and Bus next door. Very good rooms. Superb Chinese restaurant, but coffee shop/breakfast room could be better." |

| "My family and I have just returned from a 2 night stay at the Furama City Centre Hotel. What can I say, a super hotel at a very good price and in a good location. The room was an adequate size and very clean. The breakfast which is included in the price was excellent. Every member of staff that we encountered was friendly and could not do enough for us. We would certainly have no hesitation in recommending this hotel." |

| "We have stayed in this hotel previously some 3 years ago and do not remember the room being as small which was a little disappointing. Overall a reasonable hotel for the cost" |

| "We had a fantastic stay at the Furama City Center. We had just come from a horrible hotel experience in Thailand, and the Furama was like a dream. At check-in we mentioned that our flight was not until 9 pm the following night, and the clerk offered free 4pm check out without us even asking. The hotel is modern and the room looked brand new. The bathroom was a good size and was very clean. The breakfast buffet was included in our rate and was excellent. There's a small business center with internet and a printer. I had to print a couple pages and when I told the front desk the number of pages to charge to my room, they said "Don't worry about it." A small thing, but nice. All of the staff were extremely polite and helpful.
The hotel is also in a great location in Chinatown. It's very close to the metro, and a short walk to everything in Chinatown as well as Clarke Quay/Boat Quay. I highly, highly recommend the Furama. " |

| "Very friendly staff, good clean rooms and public areas. Right on the edge of China Town so evening walking was an eye opener. Very safe for the traveller. Subway across the road so easy access to anywhere in Singapore. Restaurant service good but you could get fed up with the meals if you stayed longer than 5 nights.
Really good entertainment in the bar each evening and overall a very pleasant stay." |

| "A smart, comfortable hotel in an excellent location, only 10-15 minutes walk from the river and the Colonial District and right next to the Chinatown MRT station, some good eateries nearby too. The pool was great for relaxing after a long flight. Staff were polite and attentive. Breakfast was disappointing, for example hot food was cold but don't let this put you off. Additional facilities such as laundry and internet use were expensive but this is to be expected from a hotel of this standard. I forgot to take the advice of other travellers and ended up with a room next to the lifts. The lifts were only really noisy from the bathroom but it might be worth asking for a room specifically away from the lifts as this seems to be a frequent problem!" |
