This was my first trip to Singapore so please take that into consideration on my review. I like the hotel, especially these features 1.) High speed internet for free - really nice connection and the main reason I choose it. 2.) Gym - Gym was very nice and located off 5th floor, good equipment not crowded. 3.) Excellent staff - I spoke to many of the staff and they were very accommodating. 4.) Room service - open till 3am, the food was very good and not too expensive. Here is the downside. 5.) Shower - very strong water shower, excellent!
Now the downside - 1.) No soundproofing on rooms - you can hear everyone outside your door. I highly suggest not taking 5th floor as it's extra loud and a smoking section. No privacy will be available for you and your wife or girlfriend for late night activites. 2.) Aggressive upsell on expensive laundry - my friend didn't bother checking, he ran into a $80 bill for 14 pieces. They don't leave the pricing and knock on your door at 8am asking if you have any laundry. 3.) Location - Add $8 a day to your hotel fee's since you are quite a ways away from Orchard. This actually really sucks if you are tired and want to get a cab late at night and all cabs are busy. You will have to wait like I did until 2am when cabs are more available. 4.) Room controls - as other posters have stated, not the best controls and annoying. For the price though it's not bad, still next time I think I may just pay $100 and get something on Orchard since Taxi fee's bring up Gallery to near $100.

| "I do not like staying at large impersonal hotels so this was very satisfactory. Lovely location near the river, comfortable with good facilities, very tasty dinner , very pleasant staff and good modern architecture rather than the usual overblown opulence." |
