I recently stayed at Hotel 81 Bencoolen and was fairly disappointed with my stay, other than a great location. Hotel 81 was the first hotel under S$150 that wasn't booked a week from our stay date. The room was tiny. Aircon was slow to work. The bathroom didn't drain well, and there was mold on the wood door. On the upside, the staff was friendly and the location was walking-distance to great restaurants and the City Hall MRT station. If it was about half the price, it would have been a good find for two nights

| "Reasonable location. VERY small room (Standard room). Would be more comfortable for one person. Smallest bathroom I think I've ever seen. No minibar/fridge. Breakfast was in a dingy little back room and left a lot to be desired. Certainly not value for the money you pay but then that is Singapore from my experience." |

| "we stayed in hotel81 bencoonlen st., good location its near bugis junction, sim lim and other shopping malls, but the room size is so small, we had a hard time walking around our room with all our lugage inside, its not worth the money we pay ... but in fairness the room and bathroom are clean..." |
