"I know the "old" Tristar but the "new" one is absolutely in a very poor condition. Never ever!"

"The room met our needs very well. It was a good size. The beds were clean and comfortable and the bathroom also . The complementary breakfasts were a nice touch and welcome. Staff were attentive and friendly. The hotel was also in easy reach of Changi airport. "

"For the price we paid the hotel was very good. Friendly service, decent rooms, lovely swimming pool. Breakfast wasn't great, yet served with a smile. The location was good with the MRT very near and some very interesting local markets and restaurants. Recoomended."

"Had booked into this hotel for 2 nites Arrived at 10:00pm after a long flight. There was no porter service to assist with my bags. The reception staff watched as I struggled to carry 4 bags up the stairs and into the lobby by myself. Check-in was OK but again there was no porter service to be had and again I had to carry all my luggage to the 4th floor and locate my room. Was also advised on check-in that no outgoing phone calls could be made as the phone system had been turned off for the nite Room was clean and functionable - however TV reception was poor as was the channel selection Towels in the bathroom were paper thin - probably years old - and held no water content when trying to dry myself Breakfast was a disgusting oily over salted slop that I would not feed to my dogs. No friendly faces amongst the staff - no smiles and no welcome. Other guests had the same dour faced look as they tried to swallow the unappetising meal provided. Fruit juice was so watered to render it flavoured water Requested reception call me a taxi prior to leaving my room so that I would not have to wait long. On arriving at reception was told that the taxi had not been called as they were waiting for me to come downstairs first. Had a 20 minute extra wait before the taxi arrived - making me late for my business meeting There is no restaurant at the hotel. The nearest is next door which only served Muslim food. Since the hotel is in a poor location another taxi was required to find another eatery that served good food The morning of my leaving there was still no porter service so I had to carry all my luggage back to the reception myself On checking out nothing was said to me except "Checking Out?" - no smile, no good morning welcome, no friendliness at all from the reception staff After checkout I had to ask for a taxi to be called. No effort was made to ask me what I wanted to do or where I wanted to go. This is a hotel to avoid - in all my years of traveling throughout Asia it would rate in the top two worst hotels ever Do yourself a favour and stay elsewhere - I will "

"TriStar Hotel is ideal for budget travelers, is clean and quite, and the rooms are large enough. However, the location is not that ideal if you plan to go around Singapore everyday. Most taxi drivers are also not familiar with the hotel so I advise you to tell them the name of the street instead. "

"nice comfortable place to stay "

"Overall is ok but the absence of satellite TV is a big minus!"

"Hotel is a bit old and thus a little 'worn' in spots but this is off set with good service. Personel very helpful and friendly. Hotel very clean and in safe location. Close to MRT, bus stops and markets. Good value for the price. "

"I stayed four nights and found the rooms comfortable and totally met my expectations. An added bonus was a large and enclosed/private pool which was perfect for lap swimming. It was shallow enough for children as well. Thanks for a great stay. David Booth, United States"

"A good, medium priced hotel, with friendly staff and clean facilities."
