| "The best thing about the Tristar is its location. If you want to experience real local food then there is a food court open until late (24 hours?) serving rotis, non-alcoholic drinks, noodles and other dishes. Nearby are more food courts, markets, a kueh shop and Joo Chiat road which has old shophouses and many Chinese and Malay restaurants/tea houses serving delicacies such a otak-otak, bak ku teh and popiah.
The rooms were half fresh and half run down. Some fittings didn't work and the staff had to move me three times before I got a working LAN internet connection. The pool looked nice, but the breakfast was eggs, toast and beans. Really, there's no point eating it considering the wonderful and cheap food available downstairs.
If you aim is to be close to the major shopping centres like Orchard Road then the Tristar isn't for you. This is a place to get down and dirty with Singapore." |

| "I stayed at the Tristar hotel at the start and end of my holiday in May 2009. I didn't like the room the first night but the one at the end of the holiday was much better.
This is a budget hotel and doesn't have great faciities but the location was good for the airport, 5-10 minutes from the MRT.
What I particularly liked was the friendliness of the staff on the front desk, they were excellent." |

| "Perfect place for people who don't want to be disturbed by room service, tips and bell boys! If you can carry your own luggage and make your own tea this place is ideal for you. Absolutely clean, house keeping perfect, room size good and close to the Paya Lebar MRTS station. Would definitely stay again. Just remember to change foreign exchange at the airport if you are landing in the evening as there are no restaurants close by that take credit cards and money changers close by 9. Hotel was very helpful to change some money for us in the night so we could have dinner (no restaurant at the hotel) and buy milk (no room service, no restauarants in the hotel except for a set breakfast), so remember when you are traveling with children esp to stock up on things you need and keep it in the fridge (many dept stores close by which are open very late). The hotel staff were the friendliest we have seen in our many visits to Singapore and the rooms were neat, very clean and comfortable. A great place for people who just need a clean bed and bath, with no frills attached!" |

| "When we arrived at the hotel, staff were very accomodating in making sure we were comfortable and happy. The room was clean and for that price range in Singapore, very adaquate. The AC was a bit of a problem -slightly too cold for our liking. There was no way of having proper control of the temperature. But then again, staff were quick to bring us an extra blanket etc. We were very pleased with the location of the hotel. Only a short distance to the MRT and bus connections. Lots of food and places to eat close by. The hotel staff were very friendly and went out of their way to provide information se required during our stay." |

| "Not a bad location to get about from, a short taxi ride to river and raffles. Very basic room and breakfast, room not good dirty shower curtain dirty floors. Sheets to small for the beds. They did clean it up and gave us a new shower curtain when we asked. Good pool.Expensive but it is Singapore if you can afford more go somewhere else." |

| "The hotel was located near the Paya Lebar MRT station, which is just a few stations away from Changi Airport.
The hotel was situated in a not so crowded place. The ground floor of the building has a lot of food stalls! and beside the hotel there are also a lot of food stalls with cheap price. so dining is never a problem. 7-11, and other convenient stores lurks around near the hotel. The hotel room was really big for a single traveler like me. They gave me a queen-sized bed room. The room was clean, soft comfortable bed and pillows, TV, refrigerator but with no safe-deposit box. Comfort room with bathtub. Has internet connection. Will definitely stay at this hotel again given the chance that I can go back to Singapore. :)" |
