| "Convenient location and helpful staff. Real kingsize beds. I travel often to Singapore and at the end I found a good midrange hotel." |

| "Although now part of the Hotel 81 chain (supposedly a budget chain) this hotel has risen in price significantly. A fancy new foyer doesn't disguise some issues. We had booked a non-smoking room in their non-smoking wing. The room unpleasantly stank of smoke. Only two towels are provided - no hand towels and no bathmat. The king-size beds may be king-size width but they are pretty short, especially for anyone of above average height.
Front desk staff were polite and helpful, allowing us to leave bags till our room was ready.
A useful hotel if you're needing an early start to the airport, but now rather over-priced for what you get. Book on-line for the best deals." |

| "If you want the tourist experience or satellite TV or are prone to finding fault with everything, then maybe Orchard Rd or elsewhere is for you. However, if you want to experience Singapore then there is no better place to be than in the heart of 'Malay' Singapore, and the Tristar is perfectly located for this.
The room was large, clean and comfortable. Service was with a smile, the staff were very attentive and responded quickly to our requests. Location was great with busses only 2 min walk, train under 10 min walk and taxis everywhere. Overall it was a very convenient location to explore the Island.
While breakfast wasn't great, it was adequate (juice certainly was not watered down) and was relaxingly served beside the pool. Local places to eat were abundant and the food was amazing. As this is the Malay quarter of Singapore it is accordingly Muslin and menus reflect that. This is nothing to be concerned about, just don't expect pork to be served.
Hotel81 Tristar offers good value for money and a pleasant 2/3 star stay in Singapore" |

| "I know the "old" Tristar but the "new" one is absolutely in a very poor condition. Never ever!" |

| "The room met our needs very well. It was a good size. The beds were clean and comfortable and the bathroom also . The complementary breakfasts were a nice touch and welcome. Staff were attentive and friendly. The hotel was also in easy reach of Changi airport. " |
