Hotel Review posted by Ian BORTHWICK, France in September 2005

This is the sort of hotel that you cannot wait to get back to. Despite belonging to a major chain, the staff are so friendly and efficient, and the lobby so elegantly unassuming that it feels almost like a family hotel. Despite an early arrival at Changi (0700) the staff did their best to facilitate an early check-in. The room was extremely comfortable and, as everything else in the hotel, had a kind of understated elegance. The breakfast buffet was impressive, both in terms of quality and quantity. In short, a superb choice, and we will do our best to return here when we are next in Singapore.

"Paid more than $300 U.S. per night for two nights in June and they wouldn't even provide complimentary bottled water. I arrived at the hotel late (after 1 a.m.) and I had to talk to three people (the last one a manager) in order to get complimentary bottled water. Very poor service and value for what I paid. Would never stay there again."

"Excellent Hotel in a very central location,Ideal as a base to explore the city. Amenities nearby very varied and good quality. The shopping mall next door was great to while a few hours away in the evenings. The staff were all very polite, friendly and professional. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend the Intercontinental and its staff and also Singapore as a place to stay/visit. "

"The staff were very polite and always helpful. The breakfast was excellent with a wide range of choice, varied each day. It was included in the cots and very good value. The position for shopping, the harbour and getting around was very good. Most taxi trips were under ten dollars. We had a family of four travelling so it was economical. "
