" We chose the hotel primarily because of its proximity to the place we wanted to be for a wedding. On the whole it served our purpose and it was affordable for the 4 families who required the rooms. My only complaint was i requested for kingsized beds but was disappointed with the size of the beds. Your reception staff were good but I think they need to smile more... I saw some aloofness which Singaporeans seem to show especially to Malaysians.... come on neighbours... we are nice simple people. "

"I have booked 2rooms. Very very disappointing. Room is smelly, dirty and very run down. Bath room also not in good shape, water leak and the bath room flood. The moment I step into the room, I feel like myself staying in some motel. The class maybe equivalent to "high class hotel" in low cost country. Definitely not worth the money paid. Feel pretty much like being cheated. The best thing is, picture show in the wed page is the renovated front office, and it gives a very good impression of the hotel. Wait until you get a room and stay inside. Good luck to you."

"We were close to train station and had easy access to the city. Lot of shopping in area and eateries. staff were friendly and helpful. Felt comfortable walking around the area."

"I Have stayed at Lion City Before room was nice and good location but breakfast was ordinary "

"My husband and I stayed at the Lion City Hotel for 3 nights - what a horrible experience. we requested a King or Queen size bed as my husband is 6ft 5 and I am 6ft the only bed size was a standard double with a very soft mattress so we constantly rolled into one another making sleeping very uncomfortable. the bathroom was a shamble with the shower over bath that poured water through the tiles and flooded the floor of the bathroom. When the toilet was flushed the water squirted out from the flushing handle straight onto the wall. We traveled for 5 weeks through Asia and this was the worst hotel ever and the worst breakfast. The staff were friendly though and the doormen helpful. Not in a shopping area but in a Chinese area close to local shops and eateries. I suggest travellers pay around $200 plus for a decent hotel. As jackhammers were going though the day, I would suggest the hotel is under renovation."

"breakfast is not delicious and under average"

"We've always stayed here when in Singapore. For the price you get to stay in comfort, with shopping and transport close at hand. The staff are friendly and the rooms well maintained."

"Good but nothing special "

"Maybe its a harsh rating given I was really there only for the one night and have not been to that part of Singapore before."

"tub in the bath room is licking and the smell of liquid soap is bad"
