"My Son(adult) and I spent 5 nights (10 to 15 May,08)having pre paid, it would have been a hassle looking for alternate accommodation. Locationwise it was per fect for us.However the whole building is tired and badly in need of repairs. Room awfully small with two beds, one has to stand aside to let the other pass!Upon requesting a larger room we were informed that all rooms are the same size, due to the shape of the building.I had larger bathrooms in a long distant train!Wallpaper was peeling, carpet treadbare and dirty. At least bedding was clean and changed daily.Breakfast was adequet and staff obliging and friendly. We do not recommend this Hotel for people who like to spend time in their room, other than sleep! Not up to Singapore standars, even for "budget" classification."

"We stayed here for 4 nights in April 2008. Had read reviews about small rooms and tiny bathrooms, so was prepared for that - no problem given the budget price and central location. But was disappointed with the 'tired' state of the furniture and the urgent need for redecoration. A shame, as the location on the river couldn't have been better, the staff were helpful, and the included breakfast ok. "

"Robertson Quay Hotel was in a good location for Clarke Quay.Easy to get taxis. The hotel had a lovely little pool which I didn't have time to use but was possibly the most attractive feature in the hotel. I was a bit disappointed with the room in terms of size and it being quite basic .I might have liked a duvet for the aircon and comfort. However apart from some mould in the bathroom -it was clean .Outside the window building was going on so the current view of the river might soon be obscured. The staff were very friendly and helped me get to the night Safari and the airport. Thanks! "

"Budget hotel perfect for travellers and students, I would say. Central location with great views right by the river and very good for the local bus network, but nowhere near an MRT station. No frills, budget appearance, minimal service. Rooms small with tiny bathrooms, but clean and functional. Travelling with my wife and 2 girls, we ordered connecting no-smoking rooms on an upper floor, and that is exactly what we received - just very small. 'Breakfast' was very basic, just cornflakes, toast & jam, bananas, frankfurter sausages, boiled eggs and omelettes. The highlight for my two girls was the small but attractive open air rooftop pool, landscaped with waterfall. This was the saving grace which we all appreciated."

"The hotel seems to be Ok for the money we paid"

"I had a single room, (1 single bed ) and it was a very cramped room, so much so that you could not swing a cat in it, in fact it was the smallest room I have ever stayed in, in all my travels in S.E.A. in the last fifteen years. The bathroom was also so small that when I had a shower the whole bathroom was inundated with water (no shower curtain) including the toilet paper, which became a slight problem later on, though to be fair other rooms may have bigger bathrooms. Last but not least when I arrived at the hotel there was no one available to help me with my bags and I had to struggle to get them to my room. All in all its a budget priced hotel for "Singapore" and you only get what you pay for. P.S. The location is pretty close to Clarke Quay, a plus. "

"Overall very good, the best part was the close vicinity to Chinatown and all the great food and shopping. Rooms are small but that seemed to be the case all over Singapore for the price. Very clean with good service and amenities. Would definately stay there again when in Singapore. Make sure you get the promotional room price!"

"Service was good, but the rooms are very tiny, the bathroom and shower recess are so small, you hit your elbows on the walls whilst washing. The water from the shower is designed to drain into a drain hole just beneath the wash basin near the toilet, so the bathroom floor is always wet!. Rooms very clean and neat. No, I wouldn't stay here again, would definitely spend the extra to stay in a more comfortable hotel."

"Well, overall the hotel is nice. Especially if you're not staying in the room all day long. My room was 1005, and the view was terrific! It was on 10th floor, and I had a view on Clarke Quay. Such things just daze you. The window was quite big (you can even watch the sunrise with your head on the pillow. I mean, you can see the horizon.) Now for the dark side. The room was quite small, not to mention the bathroom. Bathroom was probably 1 square meter (total! the shower, toilet and sink). So the shower was, like, 50x50 cm =)) But the weirdest thing there is the cafe near the Receiption (where the breakfast is served). There's the Toast Machine. Yes, big letters. The toasts are put into it, then some kind of rotating mechanism SLOWLY drags them through the hot area, and they fall on the plate under the Machine toasted. And this hellish thing creaks. Loud. I was there in the mornings, having my breakfast. Complete silence, nobody talks. Only the creaking sounds (and I mean SLOW creak), and the sounds of forks on the plates. Just imagine. That was like the movies of David Lynch. Depressing as hell. You have to laugh there, like me, or the place will drive you insane, mind my words. =)"
