Would I stay at this location
again:

Absolutely!
I stayed at this hotel for 28 days from 13/3/07 - 10/4/07. I was visiting my son who attends University in Singapore. A couple of reviews I had read spoke of small rooms so I was a little concerned. However, my room on the 9th floor had the very best amazing day and night views along the river. I have had previously stayed for shorter lengths of time in 4 other hotels in Singapore. All would have been considered higher in star rating than Robertson Quay Hotel. This hotels views certainly made up for the smaller room and its somewhat tired interior. It was also a very quiet room,I did not hear much noise in the nights. The cooked breakfast is adequate though not much choice. Being there quite awhile on a few days I did not eat there as I felt I would like a change to what was offered. The pool area was small but adequate but on busy days one needed to get there early if one wanted one of the 5 pool chairs. The hotels situation is very handy to Clark Quay and Robertson Walk both providing many different places to eat. There are two supermarkets within a block. A new mall has been openened recently on Clark Quay with access to the MRT and with a great inexpensive food mall which was very good. Best of all the staff and service was great and again I felt I had been given better service in this hotel than at most of the other larger hotels I have stayed at in Singapore. Added to this I found I could walk to most other places of interest within 5 to 15 minutes. It was only a few minutes on the MRT to China Town and Little India. I didn't spend much time at all in my room it was Singapore! A most satisfactory stay and one I would most certainly repeat as the hotel does offer value for money.

2/5  Posted by MR. CROFT, Lawrence, United Kingdom in August 2008
"Singapore hotels appear to have become very expensive since our last stay in 2005. The Robertson Quay hotel is very well placed for the river trips and the Clarke Quay eating areas. Views from the tenth floor over the City were spectacular. The pool was OK for a two night stopover. However the hotel is very very tired. Its facilities are poor - we would describe our bedroom electrics as "imaginitive" and probably best not touched. The room was also not very clean, under the beds in particular. Having said this the reception staff were very helpful and worked hard to make our stay as comfortable as possible. I think at much reduced prices the hotel would be good value for backpackers and people on a budget, but for us the quality did not justify the cost and was a low point in the 10 hotels we stayed in around the Far East in Summer 2008. "Horrendous, it was literally IN a construction site that did not stop banging until 10 at night. the bathrooms had mold everywhere and the rooms are miniscule. No need to be in Robertson Quay, stay in China town and take a taxi when needed!"

"My Son(adult) and I spent 5 nights (10 to 15 May,08)having pre paid, it would have been a hassle looking for alternate accommodation. Locationwise it was per fect for us.However the whole building is tired and badly in need of repairs. Room awfully small with two beds, one has to stand aside to let the other pass!Upon requesting a larger room we were informed that all rooms are the same size, due to the shape of the building.I had larger bathrooms in a long distant train!Wallpaper was peeling, carpet treadbare and dirty. At least bedding was clean and changed daily.Breakfast was adequet and staff obliging and friendly. We do not recommend this Hotel for people who like to spend time in their room, other than sleep! Not up to Singapore standars, even for "budget" classification."

"We stayed here for 4 nights in April 2008. Had read reviews about small rooms and tiny bathrooms, so was prepared for that - no problem given the budget price and central location. But was disappointed with the 'tired' state of the furniture and the urgent need for redecoration. A shame, as the location on the river couldn't have been better, the staff were helpful, and the included breakfast ok. "
