Hotel Review posted by Sin Wai Man, Hong Kong in September 2005

This must be the worst hotel  (out of five) that I ever stayed in in Singapore.

The room that I was assigned to when I checked in had very poor conditioning.  I called the front desk and they sent a repair guy to check it.  That guy said it was not malfunctioning but it only had a small motor (I suppose it's related to the fan that takes the air from the duct to my room) and there was nothing he could do.  I then asked for a change of room and the duty manager came up and showed me another room which had a bigger motor for air-conditioning.

In the new room there was some problem with the TV and the same repair guy said he could not fix it and we had to wait until his boss came to work as there was supposed to be a piece of equipment needed that only his boss had access to.  He did not come back that night and I had to call the front desk and house-keeping five times the next day before they sent someone to fix it.

To add to the misery, the bathtub leaked and I had to put two towels on the groud to wipe the water.  Another guy on this review forum actually mentioned this before, so I guess the problem is not isolated.

The only bright side is the staff were friendly.  My 1-smail rating is given only for the friendly staff.

 Aoid it at all cost.

"We stayed at this hotel from Oct, 01 to Oct, 04. The hotel is located at the city center at a street just across the Orchard Road. The facilities provided are excellent value for money. The hotel is clean and food is quite nice. The breakfast served was slightly boring though. However, I would strongly recommend this hotel."

"Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were most helpful when I discovered that I had left a folder of documents behind. They faxed copies of the ones I needed for the rest of our travels and held the folder for me to collect on my way home through Singapore. The hotel was very comfortable and the staff were excellent."

"This is the second time I have stayed here but I was very dissappointed on this occassion. My room was smaller and noisier than last time and I thought the bathroom was terrible. Breakfast was revolting and in the age of free wireless I had to pay through the nose for cable broadband via this site but it's free with Wotif. One thing going for it is the location which is very central. However for a few bucks more book with wotif or expedia and you will probably enjoy your stay elsewhere. "

"Good location but very noisy building with hard beds"

"Good hotell. Newly renovated. But you could hear the other guests in the other rooms. So the rooms are not so good isolated. But the location is okay."
