Hotel Review posted by mi and dor, Philippines in October 2005

We stayed at the Hotel Royal at Queens for two nights last Oct. 14-16.We found the hotel to be quite reasonable fot its price. Everything written about in the reviews on Asiarooms proved to be true though...the rooms did have a funky, musky smell and the toilet leaked everytime it was flushed. I think they only concentrated on the lobby when they decided to renovate the place. Breakfast was okay. The staff was accomodating- not too friendly but they did their jobs right. The best part about the hotel is really the location. It's on the quiet side of town but just a block away from all the action. Basically an okay hotel to stay in if you're on a tight budget. We could say that we got our moneys worth :-)

"Good hotell. Newly renovated. But you could hear the other guests in the other rooms. So the rooms are not so good isolated. But the location is okay."

"Location excellent. Reception very helpful and efficient. Pool disappointing with no accessable toilets and only cold showers and small changing area. Room clean but bathroom small and badly needing an update. Noisy renovations on floor above whilst we were there. Breakfast good but need more variety, we stayed 6 nights and there was little change in availability most mornings."

"Location wise very good! but the room a bit too old & renovation in progress(very noisy)!"

"The location is ideal for travellers. The City Hall Train station is a 10 min stroll. Lots of shopping and eatery places around. Since, the hotel was undergoing renovations, it was noisy. There was a slight smell in the hotel, which I attribute it to the renovation. Breakfast was good with variety, however, the same variety was served for the three days we stayed there, and was pretty cold. Overall, hotel is good if you use it only for sleeping, as LOCATION is GREAT. I would stay there again."

"Not worth with such room rate, very old style and kinda dirty. "
