Good room sizes, good breakfast range (continental, asian, and english), polite staff, excellent location (3 min walk to Raffles Hotel and Raffles City Mall one way, Bugis street the other, 10 mins to Suntec City and the Esplanade, short easy taxi or MRT ride to Orchard Road, Chinatown or Little India), and not heaving with traffic as situated on a little used cul-de-sac. Hotel has a swimming pool, not mentioned on this site. Was easy to get a taxi at all times of the day.
Some rooms a little scruffy for 4-star (although renovation is in progress floor by floor), air conditioner in room was adequate, but not very powerful. No iron or board in room. If you like to have breakfast later (we went around 9:30), be ready for luke-warm beans!
Joins on to the rear of the Allson hotel.
Outstanding location makes up for some minor shortfalls in the quality of the rooms and facilities (for the price). Perfect as a base of operations for the explorer!

| "Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
The staff were most helpful when I discovered that I had left a folder of documents behind. They faxed copies of the ones I needed for the rest of our travels and held the folder for me to collect on my way home through Singapore.
The hotel was very comfortable and the staff were excellent." |

| "This is the second time I have stayed here but I was very dissappointed on this occassion. My room was smaller and noisier than last time and I thought the bathroom was terrible. Breakfast was revolting and in the age of free wireless I had to pay through the nose for cable broadband via this site but it's free with Wotif. One thing going for it is the location which is very central. However for a few bucks more book with wotif or expedia and you will probably enjoy your stay elsewhere. " |

| "Good hotell. Newly renovated. But you could hear the other guests in the other rooms. So the rooms are not so good isolated.
But the location is okay." |

| "Location excellent. Reception very helpful and efficient. Pool disappointing with no accessable toilets and only cold showers and small changing area.
Room clean but bathroom small and badly needing an update. Noisy renovations on floor above whilst we were there. Breakfast good but need more variety, we stayed 6 nights and there was little change in availability most mornings." |
