When we arrived, the hotel's information showed us checking in three days later (our checkout date). We showed them the confirmation from Asian Rooms, and they readily accepted that the error was on their part. However, no other rooms were imemdiately available and we then went through a series of "check back in 30 mins". During the first wait, they offered to buy us a soft drink from the bar. Then we went to grab lunch. On the third wait, it became apparent that no room would be ready for some time. When we asked if that was so, the front desk employee agreed and said it would likely be several more hours. Then why have us check back in every 30 minutes??? When we finally did get a room, it was one with two twin beds pushed together, not a queen, as we had reserved.
After getting over this bad start, the rest of the experience was enjoyable. Very clean rooms that make good use of the limited space. Hotel staff was pleasant and courteous, and the building as a whole as a trendy, chic feel to it, with lots of abudant energy. Breakfast is good. Did not try the on-site restaurant or bar, as they looked pricey. Location is convenient to two MRT stops and within walking distance of at least 3 separate nightlife areas.

| "Being a Business Traveller who visits Singapore on a monthly basis, the Scarlet fulfilled my need for a hotel that has the amenities for work (ie. free & fast internet connection in-room), is located close to my clients' offices and to the CBD, has dependable yet unobtrusive service, beautifully kept and lastly have a unique ambience that is unlike the regular large hotel chains. I loved the Scarlet and highly reccommend it to the weary road-warrior who wants a breath of fresh air, peace & quiet but with nightlife right round the corner in Chinatown. The highlights of my stay were the staff's willingness to accomodate my need for breakfast at 5:30am (way before regular opening hours), taxi waiting to whisk me on time for my 7:50am flight. Did I mention that the intern even successfully sorted out my broken luggage-lock ? Great service. " |

| "What a gorgeous little place right next door to Chinatown. Great staff, great service, loved the breakfast!! Rooms a little on the small side, but always immaculate and good sized bathrooms. With a gym and roof top restaurant, this place really is one to try. I will most certainly be back." |

| "Our stay was fantasitc, the service was outstanding. Food was lovely for breakfast, drinks at the top bar were a little expensive. Our only downfall was that we had booked a room with a window and king bed, unfortunately this was not availabe so we had a room with a window with 2 single beds pushed together - a little disapointing. Overall fantastic boutique hotel to stay in, close to Chinatown and the MRT. Would hightly recommend." |
