Check-in was swift, but only received one keycard (other hotels usually give two). Security was poor, you could press buttons in the lift without having to insert your keycard first. Room size was ok, but airconditioning wasn't very effective and the unit looked like it was 30yrs old. TV was small and old and remote wasn't working properly. Bathroom was nice but the benchtop near the sink was heavily stained and there were brown stains in the sink. One of the towels had a brown stain on it too. Yuck. Only good thing about this hotel was the location. If you want a better hotel in the same area, go to Pan-Pacific, it is by far the best hotel I have ever stayed at. A bit expensive, but fantastic hotel.

| "Room was clean and of a good size. Bathroom was mediocre at best. Position of the hotel is excellent being on top of a shopping mall and an underground station with the ability to travel most places quickly and efficiently. The service from the front desk was very poor, unhelpful and actually rude. We had to queue for over 20 minutes to just check-out of the room due to their inefficiency." |

| "We have a very nice stay in Singapore. Hotel staffs are very help. My only comment is there is no internet facilities in the hotel foyer as nowadays, not everyone is carrying a computer thru custom as it is very security conscious.

| "Friendly staff, outstanding location close to Marina Bay with good view. All major sights (p.ex. Chinatown, Merlion, Singapore Flyer) in walking distance. Very good Club Lounge. Very good breakfast buffet in Swiss Cafe (incl. western and easter delights)." |

| "The hotel, whilst functional and spacious is a bit bland and faceless and you certainly feel more like a "client" than a guest. Views from the higher rooms and bar are great and I think the hotel is probably in one of the best locations in terms of getting around.
Breakfast is good and there is plenty of selection.
My complaint about The Stamford is that the front desk was not well organised for check out. There were not enough reception staff for a hotel that size and at that price I would not expect to wait over 30 minutes to check out.
If you go I would advise express checkout (where you drop your card and a form in a box). We hadn't done this as we wanted to check our bill (and check for anything that might have been added on) but we were later told that even with express they will send you the invoice before charging your card." |
