I was initially a little apprehensive to book as some of the reviews are quite bad. But it turned out to be a good choice, the room we have is better than our expectation. Our request was noted - on high floor, with window and double bed. Perfect for a couple/budget travellers. Check in and out is a breeze and location is good. I think it really depends on which room is available upon your check in, these are very old shophouses built in 1900, so rooms come in different shape and size, and maybe some room has no window. Just state your request clearly and hope luck is on your side when check in!

| "The location is convenient and with lots od food choice, you could go around the night market too. But my room did not have a window and is quite dark, I was often disturbed by the noice from other rooms...not very nice. I won't recommend the service but the counter is friendly though." |

| "On the whole, not a bad hotel if looking for cheap accomodation. The location is great, in the heart of Chinatown and close to the MRT.
The night receptionist is great, very helpful and even keen to carry down my luggage from the 3rd floor.
I suggest that you get a room facing the Temple Street, lots to look from the window.
Bathroom could do with a very good clean and more hot water in the shower.
They should see about getting the TV sorted, not working when I was there.
Overall not bad for the dollars, if looking for room service or a porter to help with luggage forget it, if looking for a character building in a exciting part of Singapore go for it.
I did not have any safety issues when I have stayed there, I am a woman on my own and never felt any bad vibes in the building or surrounding location.
