| "The location is convenient and with lots od food choice, you could go around the night market too. But my room did not have a window and is quite dark, I was often disturbed by the noice from other rooms...not very nice. I won't recommend the service but the counter is friendly though." |

| "On the whole, not a bad hotel if looking for cheap accomodation. The location is great, in the heart of Chinatown and close to the MRT.
The night receptionist is great, very helpful and even keen to carry down my luggage from the 3rd floor.
I suggest that you get a room facing the Temple Street, lots to look from the window.
Bathroom could do with a very good clean and more hot water in the shower.
They should see about getting the TV sorted, not working when I was there.
Overall not bad for the dollars, if looking for room service or a porter to help with luggage forget it, if looking for a character building in a exciting part of Singapore go for it.
I did not have any safety issues when I have stayed there, I am a woman on my own and never felt any bad vibes in the building or surrounding location.

| "My husband and I are very, very disappointed in this hotel, we had been transferred 5 times (each night) to different rooms (we were booked for 6 nights). We spent 6 nights in this hotel with the aircon not working in the room, it keeps turning off every 10 minutes, as the temp control is set up this way, but can't be reset as each control panel (in the 4 rooms we were transferred to) was faulty. The manager in this hotel is very rude and not very helpful at all, only one front desk staff (Joe) was very kind, helpful and understanding, tried to help us move from one room to another each night. Hotel management needs to inspect each room, as it seems that the aircondition is not working properly. We have to sleep in a very small room in a very hot/humid condition. At one point, we were moved to a room with an electric fan, so with the aircon turning off by itself every 10 minutes, we have to sleep with the fan on just to ease the heat. On the third night, the heat was unbearable already without proper ventilation (not allowed to open windows for security purposes), I was getting sick and felt suffocated, I've asked to speak to the manager, but front desk advised us that "in no circumstances" that they are allowed to call the manager after his day duty. They told us that hotel is fully booked and we can't be transferred anymore. At that point, I was already desperate, and had to call the Tourist Hotline for assistance. It was at that point that front desk officer found us another room to sleep in. Of course, the same scenario, aircon turns off by itself every 10 minutes. In addition to the non-working airconditioners, hot water only lasts 5 minutes, so you can't complete a proper shower, towels and sheets are very old (already discoloured to "dirty white"). I believe this hotel can't be rated even as 2 star accommodation, it may be located conveniently to transport (mrt), but guests should also be allowed to have comfort after a day's out touring Singapore. This is our first time to visit Singapore, and our experience with this hotel had significantly affected our much awaited and planned holiday. I will never recommend this hotel to anyone. The price I paid for this hotel is not considered budget price, so I could not believe the very poor, if not appalling standard of this hotel. Asiarooms had organized our other hotels (Singapore, last day & Malaysia, 3 nights), and these other hotels had an overall excellent value (paid same price as The Inn). I will still use Asiarooms in the future to book accommodation/s, but I suggest to anyone who will travel to Singapore, be careful when choosing your accommodation as "hotel is a part of a good holiday"..Please avoid The Inn." |
