"The location of the hotel, especially if you desire to be in Chinatown, is perfect. However, what would make you doubt about the cleanliness is the poor state of the corridor carpets. Also, cleaning equipmwent (pails, mops, etc) are kept in the stairwells. If you are looking for a room with a window, do not expect to have one. Overall, if you need to save money and just need a place for the night, this would suffice."

"Thanks to AsiaRooms for the speed and reliability of your responses. Tropical Hotel staff were very helpful and courteous; the room was however very small and basic and soon congested with travel items. Unfortunately the shower was the type that spilled all over the bathroom floor which made going in and out onto a wet floor quite a nuisance. Breakfast was very basic but adequate for some food before starting a day of sightseeing. I believe there was an internet (wireless) connection near the office but for next trip to Singapore I would expect one in the room: internet access is a basic service today equal to airconditioning and a reliable water system. I thought the rate was a bit expensive (I paid AUD91 per night)compared to other hotels and for the basic nature of the room. Thanks for the opportunity to comment. "

"The hotel is not worth the money. Poor servise and bad rooms. Also its cheaper to get a room from the hotel directly then from the website. Porpably was the worst aspect of my Singapore Trip."

"Acceptable as a budget hotel but rather scruffy; nice staff, basic breakfast included and in a convenient place, so OK if only needing a room to sleep in. "

| "The room was so small we first think it was a mistake. But then we found out that the pictures on the webpage are not from Tropical Hotel Singapore. When we show the webpage to the staff in the "lobby" they just tell us "there is no room like this in the hotel" There was construction work going on all day so it was impossible to sleep or stay in the room at all. We can not recommend this hotel to anyone.
We would however recommend that Asiaroom.com remove this hotel from the booking page, and we are sorry to say that we may look for other booking pages in the future.

"I stayed at Tropical last July 2007 with my family. Room rates then with Asiarooms.com were $52 per night. A smaller room this time cost $92. Good hotel location in China town, helpful staff, clean and tidy rooms. Suitable for bussines or international transit for a few days. New carpet and paint has brighten the premises up."

"Small but tidy.....carpet was really dirty and unvacummed...but when I went back they were replacing it ....so that was probably why.....Good location..maybe a bit too expensive for what was provided."
