| "The room was much better than we expected - excellent mattresses, room size, cleanliness, etc.
This hotel is probably the best location for business people and expecially for tourists (near Myong Dong area, famous for fashion, dining, and shopping). It is about 10 minutes walking distance to the famous Hotel Lotte, Shinsegi Department store and South Market.
Front desk people were so kind and helpful and spoke English well.
I was suprised to receive free breakfasts.
Will definitely stay there again - had a great time at a good price." |

| "This hotel was all that we could expect. All of our requests were met and we even received free use of the internet. The hotel was a very short distance from the airport shuttle bus stop and with very efficient traffic-lights it was easy to get to and from the hotel. Also very close to the metro entrance." |

| "Overall, the hotel is ok. Only thing is there are no internet available in the room. There is a public PC in the lobby to use.
The hotel location is close to the subway station and near to the area Myedong.
Not many food place around the area.
Room is clean and fair.
But would like to give thanks to the Mr. Thomas for his hospitality for their arrangement for the day tour. He even reminded me to bring passport for the DMZ day tour.
The people there can speak english (not all of them though).

| "The hotel room cleaner and one of the English-speaking reception staff were indeed polite and helpful during my stay there. Other than the lack of facilities in the room as compared with several other hotels in the same range, the convenient location of Astoria Hotel, coupled with good service and reasonable price, is generally a good choice for budget travellers. :D" |

| "Although there were just some little inconveniences like when you reached Sejong to asked for the shuttle bus from Astoria, you have to know the right number to call and have to know where to wait for it. But the location is convenient and with plenty of places to eat and in a cafe city like seoul, plenty of cafes around. The price is reasonable and the staffs a little english which helps. 3-5 mins to myeong dong makes it an attractive location. However you should not accept a room on the third storey as the night club on the second storey is REALLY noisy. " |

| "The hotel overall is good because of the location that is very close to shopping center and city. The hotel guest can take the airport shuttle and stop at the Sejong hotel. The hotel shuttle is available to pick up the hotel guests at Sejong hotel. I made a call to Astoria hotel for the shuttle from Sejong hotel, and I had to wait about 5-1 mins. It's OK as well if you want to walk from the Sejong hotel to the Astoria because there is about 7 mins walking distance.
The room is spacious and clean. I believe that there are limited number of staff for room-services because one staff who was on the duty of room-service refused my request of sending me the hot water for coffee in the morning. But it wouldn't bothering me much. The breakfast was good but I would recommend that the hotel should include 2 breakfast for double room or twinroom. " |

| "Near the centre of Seoul, its clean, friendly and has reasonable size rooms.
Near a subway station (Where in Seoul isn't?) it makes finding easy. A bus will take you from Inchon Airport to Sejong hotel which is an easy 2 min walk away. Big bags? they will send a courtesy car to the Sejong to get you.
Near Mya Dong shopping market. It's hidden behind the Sejong hotel. Worth a look if you have time.
All around a good hotel.
One thing that I wondered about what went on in the LuLu club on the 2nd floor. Friday and Saturday nights had lots of women wandering around the hotel centred on this place. Also men in business suits and the sounds of Karaoke coming. What I thought was a hostess singing room, more than likely, very expensive. The man at the door guided me to the stairs - keep on walking.....

| "The Astoria Hotel provides very good value for the price you pay. Its location is also superb - it is only a 5 mins walk from the shopping district Myeongdong and a few minutes walk from the nearest subway station Chungmuro and airport bus stop. However, not every staff there speaks good English, but they would still try and are helpful and polite.
The only thing that might disturb those on family trips is the presence of a nightclub on the 2nd Floor, however, the staff and patrons of the club keep to themselves and do not disturb other hotel guests and they are also not rowdy. The breakfast selection is also good, with a choice of Continental, American, Korean or Japanese set meal - one minor complaint though is that only breakfast for one person is provided, so the other person would have to pay about USD10 for it. | "Well, what a fantastic hotel, perfect location & inexpensive for all travellers! Having never been to Seoul and picking the hotel from the website, we were so surprised at the standard of the hotel overall. The room was so spacious. The bathroom was to die for, it was actually bigger than the one I have at home. Our view was the Seoul Tower and at night when it was lite up the was spectaular. Located right in the middle of Seoul just a short walk from the South Gate, in the middle of all the shopping and local markets. At night we spent our time walking the very safe streets looking at the wonderful shops and sights. Food, there are so many restaurants and vendors selling all types of local cuisine including both western & korean. Every day we found a new restaurant to try. The food was absolutely wonderful and reasonably priced. The hotel staff were way beyond our expectations. Always offering assistance from the manager down to the cleaning staff. The hotel food was very nice. (pity they do not have tea and coffee making in the rooms) They even have a have a free shuttle bus to another hotel so you can catch the express bus to the airport and not have to drag your heavy luggage through the busy streets.... I will definately stay there when I visit Seoul again and have told everyone what a wonderful experience we had and highly recommend people stay here..... I give it a rating of 10 stars. Well done Astoria Hotel Seoul!!!!!" |
